It's time for some summery DIY
Whenever I'm at the sea I collect lots of pretty seashells and over the years I have accumulated quite... a few...too many.
I display them on basically every surface, put them in jars, vases...
but still most of them were stored in boxes, -forgotten. What a shame! So I came up with some (maybe animal crossing-inspired) DIY's to display more of them:
Shell wreath w-i-p: This takes ages ngl! I work my way from the middle outwards on both sides, not necessarily going for symmetry but to keep things proportional. This is made in several 'layers': first is to very loosely cover the entire wreath and second and third layer are for filling any gaps/fine-tuning.
Shell covered terracotta pot, w-i-p: spent like ~5hrs on first and second layer, last one still to do and then I'll cover the top (lip-part) of the pot in some rope.
And finally some starfishhair clips. I am really a mermaid (at heart!) And this is basically the human equivalent of Ariel using a fork to comb her hair. (I am also covered in sea shell jewelry rn)
Enjoy your summer babes!
