In January 2014, "My Friend Duffy" was updated due to the popularity of Shellie Mae. So now the first act features Duffy and Mickey setting off on their voyage and the second act features Minnie creating Shellie Mae so that Duffy will have a friend.
If you ask me (I know you didn’t, but you are reading my Tumblr), there is a little bit of an homage to James Whale in the Shellie Mae reveal to Duffy.
"Oh look at Tower Bridge' said Shellie, 'Doesn't it look pretty with those rings on it'.
'Yes' says Duffy and they are a big clue on where are going next!'
'Oh I know' says Shellie "Saturn! I've always wanted to be an astronaut'.
'Don't be silly' Duffy says 'they are the Olympic rings & each one represents a continent on Earth. The colours of the rings are on every county's flag as well so its very international'
'Just like us with our jet travels then' Shellie replies
'That's right' says Duffy 'now lets the tube train to somewhere really exciting!'
