Delicate and flavorful, these Honey and Vanilla Madeleines are a delightful treat with a hint of honey sweetness and fragrant vanilla. Their distinctive shell shape makes them a visually appealing choice for tea time or dessert.
Ingredients: 3/4 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 2 large eggs. 1/3 cup granulated sugar. 2 tablespoons honey. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled. Powdered sugar, for dusting.
Instructions: Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up. If you need to, grease and flour the madeleine molds. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk. Beat the eggs and sugar together in a different bowl until the mixture is pale and thick. Mix the honey and vanilla extract into the eggs in a good way. Add the dry ingredients little by little until they are just combined. Add the melted butter slowly and mix it in until the batter is smooth. Fill up each madeleine mold about two thirds of the way to the top with batter. The madeleines are done when they are lightly golden and spring back when you touch them. Take the madeleines out of the molds and set them on a wire rack to cool. After the madeleines have cooled, sprinkle them with powdered sugar and serve.
