Ah... well... it's not really just one OTP. I've kind of been on a Fire Emblem 3H kick lately. I guess I've kind of been in the mood for Claudeleth, Dimimari, and Netteflix

F. What's the longest you've ever been in a fandom

I never quite leave fandoms just more the hyperfixation hibernates until something triggers it again. And that usually lasts about a year maybe a year and a half.

But I guess I spent a long time in YuGiOh fandom back in my high school years for a good few years.

I don't know if I do? Like it's not like a "I need to have something to ship" kind of thing, it just happens. Though whether or not I'm super focused on the ship does depend from fandom to fandom.

In this AU, the Hallows sends ZYL back in time not once, but 5 times in total, to 5 different periods of Shen Wei’s life (one of these times is not what you expect). That’s all I’ll say for now (because spoilers) but I will say it is a fix-it and everyone lives happily ever after!

Psychonauts AU for P5. The thieves are trainees for the Japan division of the Psychonauts (the Psychonauts are referred to “international secret agents” after all) while also acting as secret vigilantes. Akira’s serving out his probation as a rookie (similar to how people will be given the choice between jail time or military service.)

Q: A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.

King/dom H/earts, namely cause I got tired of the games. I never finished the first two numbered games (never played CoM even though I had a GBA) and got tired of all the spin-offs for consoles I didn’t own. Plus I just couldn’t take the story seriously anymore. Those of you who are still excited for K/H/3, I’m glad you guys are still enjoying yourselves, it just doesn’t do it for me anymore.

T: Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?

I'm currently writing a Naruto fic set during the Warring States period based on exploring the background culture of the shinobi world, especially for different countries. I'm rooting around for ideas and I was wondering if you have any worldbuilding headcanons for that time period in the Naruto world? Or if there are any canon sources that talk about cultural differences between the different countries?

Hey, you're one of my fav authors for Hawke and Fenris and I was wondering if you had any particular headcanons for where the two of them went during the gap between da2 and dai? Like specific locations or anything? I'm writing a fic for a friend centered around those years and trying to drum up ideas. So far I've considered everything from wandering the Free Marches to hiding out in Ferelden (usually Highever). Was hoping if I could have your two cents? I can't make up my mind!

I hope you don’t mind me answering publicly. If you do, please let me know and I’ll take this down.

I’ve yet to set it down in stone myself, but my headcanon is that their plans to hide out in Fereldan or sail off to somewhere like Rivain are put on hold by hunting slavers. They keep running into little well-entrenched bands in the Free Marches, so they set to finding and weeding them out. Eventually they end up with a little house in northern Fereldan, somewhere near the coast, probably at least a good day’s journey from any town. They have a couple dogs and some sheep and maybe a cow, and a nice little vegetable garden.

We all know about Percy and Annabeth's fatal flaws but the books don't mention the other seven's fatal flaws. Do you have any thoughts on what they could be?

Alright, I'm going to have a go at this, and if Ginny wants to add she totally can.

Piper- Confidence. I see her flaw being very similar to Annabeth's although she would fall more to over confidence rather than to pride. A huge story arc of hers through the series was her struggling to overcome her self doubt and take pride in who she is. Like all fatal flaws, they are good in small amounts. Having confidence is a good thing, but it can be a problem when you think you can single handedly take on an army.

Leo- Arrogance. Hear me out on this one, because I almost made it insecurity. I believe that if Leo had remained in the same character arc that he was given in TLH (trying to find his place, learning what a home was) he would struggle with insecurity. However, RR totally screwed him over writing wise, and he turned into a womanizing, over the top, cocky jerk. He has a bit of what I call a "special snowflake" syndrome, where he thinks he is above everyone else around him (thinking he is smarter, coming up with dangerous plans and not telling his friends about them, etc). I could easily see him causing his own downfall because he was too arrogant to see the flaws.

Frank- Trusting others. I know that totally doesn't sound like a flaw, but it could have very easily killed him when he trusted Hazel to take his stick for him. He literally has to put his life in the palm of someone else's hands. I think trusting people is very dangerous for him. (Again, super good in small amounts. Disastrous if he puts his trust in the wrong person). 

Jason- Lack of self identity. I really do like the way his character arc ended, with him floating between the two camps. However, long distance and constant traveling puts major strain on a person and their relationships. His future could easily be a tragic one- he unties the camps and helps to recognize the minor gods, but at the cost of all the relationships and security he could have had at one camp. (Not to mention what would happen if the camps started fighting again- where would he go? He doesn't have a side to pick).

Hazel- She has no flaws, tbh. (But if I gave her a flaw it would probably be something related to her becoming way too powerful with the mist and it going to her head leading to her downfall BUT it's Hazel and that would never happen).

Is it ever mentioned if Leo is taller than Calypso? Because all the fanart show Leo as taller but I've always imagined him to be shorter than Calypso. I dunno why but I think it's cute

I *think* it was said somewhere in HoH that they’re like right around the same height.  But I’m with you- I like to think Calypso’s just a little taller than him.

Oh wow. Man now I'm kinda sad. The thing I liked most about MCU Tony was that he refused to let his machines get out of hand and was a prime example of 'robots can't solve everything'. When I first heard of Phase 2 I was hoping Ant-Man would release before AoU. MCU is one of my favorite movie franchises and I would hate it if their characterizations went out of whack. Oh well. Thank you, by the way, for taking the time to answer my question so eloquently!

It is sad. And annoying. Like waiting for a train wreck in slow motion. I know next to nothing about Ant-Man except for his role in helping create Ultron but yeah, I think they’ve removed that aspect entirely because Ultron itself physically appears entirely Stark-made. It’s retconning and destroying all of Tony’s development throughout the trilogy.

If we’re being honest though, MCU’s characterisations have been out of whack for a while now. I’m pretty sure the only one they’ve remotely done justice to is Natasha and that’s mostly due to the Russo brothers. The Thor franchise failed Thor entirely by being all about Loki, no one’s really convinced Whedon gets the Bruce-Hulk dynamic, Clint got like 5 lines in the movie so we can’t even tell and the road they’re going down with Tony just shows how little he understands them.

And as a team relationship it’s disappointing that they haven’t learned anything from the comics. Audiences are tired of seeing heroes vs. heroes, especially when they only jUST brought the team together and they were fighting for all over like 6 hours before they splintred off to do their thing. That’s hardly  a foundation for the proper friendship and camaraderie we got in the comics, tat least in their early stages.

Again, sorry for the rant! MCU will always be one of my favorite franchises if not THE most favorite and I’m dying for it to be May 2015 already but it’s frustrating because these characters deSERve better, you know?? And we as audiences who know and love their comic counterparts do, too.
