the bit of chapters like 75% of the way through htn are hysterical for a lot of reasons but im personally a big fan of how. Gideons going on and on about how Harrow doesn't even like her and never will and didn't even want to eat her etc etc and then we cut back to Harrow and she's in like. ghost group therapy grief counseling. post grief lobotomy. grieving so hard she's writing au fanfic

feeling Very Normal about how Mercymorn and Harrow have such a similar reaction to their cavaliers' death. How it's known to all the lyctors that it's best not to mention them in front of Harrow/Mercymorn. How they refuse to acknowledge that Gideon's/Cristabel's death was their choice (Harrow telling Ortus she'll spit in face of anyone calling Gideon's death suicide. That it was all because of Cytherea./Mercymorn hating and blaming Alfred and Augustine for the suicide pact). Their love for the people who had left them behind. Their rage at people around them who act like they should Get Over It.
