Thanks for asking, as your question has given me an excuse to listen to this wonderful theme once more, though I’ve been doing it all day long almost. This track is truly my favourite, the violin part is purely amazing and then Pursuit and Sherlock themes come combined together and this is the moment where my heart almost stops.
So when I first joined this fandom, and knew nothing about it, I remember getting directed to an audio link (how- that I don't remember) , and it just suddenly came to my mind. It was like, people shouting but soon you realise they are shouting the bbc title track ... Like no music at all, just shouting that track 😅 ... Do you know about it or where to find it? Name? I like the idea of this, especially since it would be one more way of saying “I told you it’s been there since the beginning!!” to all the nonbelievers but I really hope they don’t. I don’t find this piece intimate at all (especially with that MIDI brass near to the end of the track….). It’s honestly kind of laughable in that it’s so over-the-top.
When we’re blessed with the Johnlock kiss I hope that the music will be subtle and soft–something that is a resolution or a sigh of relief to all of this waiting. I think that it’s going to be such a visually powerful scene that balancing it with softness and sweetness in the score would be much more meaningful.

Personally, I think the first genuine lips on lips kiss should literally be just complete silence. No interruptions, just the two of them, beautiful lighting. Like, completely remove all the “cheese” from the kiss. I think this will more be like the FINAL FINAL FINAL SCENE MUSIC for the series. Yeah, DEFINITELY final scene music! :D
You know what the best thing about this music is, Nonny?
IT HASN’T BEEN USED ANYWHERE ELSE EVER. It’s only ever been used in the Pilot. Every other song used in the Pilot has been used or remixed in ASiP or other episodes.
Granted the song itself is a remix of the Sherlock Theme, but it’s SO RIDICULOUSLY ROMANTIC and KINDA SOFTCORE PORNY.
Calling it now, Nonny, THIS IS THE SOUNDTRACK TO OUR KISS.
