Irene: no, lets not just kill her off, lets mess with the audiences minds. (first of all, in the original books, Sherlock doesn't like or love Irene, Arthur Conan Doyle makes it clear that Sherlock only admires Irene for her intellect.)
Moriaty: Kills him off. Goood, greeeatt, let the audience be at peace for two more episodes then lets put him in Sherlock's mind... Heck, lets just BLOODY BRING HIM BACK!?

Mary Watson: Doesn't die, but in the original series, she was killed off while Sherlock was 'dead' because her character was causing too many problems with the plot lines. But Sherlock (tv) has made her an assassin. *ahem* former assassin. Now, I don't think the writers of Sherlock would change the story SOOO much as to bring a child into it... Do you? Well... Who knows? Its Moffat.
Anything is now possible, they're gonna make the next couple of series' quite different from any take on Sherlock Holmes yet. I just know it. And I'll be waiting the whole time to watch it.
