I was just watching Apéritif, and I noticed that, in the last scene at the hospital, the room is the room-equivalent of Hannibal's suit from earlier in the episode. The Wall is the same blue, the curtain is the tie, even the bar could be his pocket square! And I was wondering if you had any thoughts on what that means.
Oh wow, thanks for the ask! I’m surprised to get any engagement on this sideblog that I haven’t updated in 2 years lol, but I appreciate it :)
Honestly I never noticed that but it’s a gr8 observation and tbh sounds really fitting if purposeful and not like, an accident of keeping colour palettes consistent or something (tbh idk enough to know whether that’s likely at all lol, but I do know that the crew on the show went all out in the details so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it’s deliberate).
Like it’s essentially Will and Abigail starting to get drawn into Hannibal’s world - he’s interested in them and has decided to aim his “I just wanted to see what would happen” style of meddling at them - so it’s really cool if the set design of the hospital room, where they all end up after the first major instance of that meddling (the phone call), reflects that in a subtle way by having it match Hannibal’s wardrobe.
Like, it’s a great symbol of his influence over them and the situation they’re now in. Man now I want to see if this ever happens later in the series too, maybe with Will and his wardrobe in season 2 or 3.
btw if you care at all i’m active on my main account here, though it’s more a multifandom blog that includes some hannibal rather than hannibal only.
