still recovering from Artfight Burnout™️ but here is some chompy content inspired by a convo with my oomf
you ever think about the scene in the steven universe movie where they reveal that when a pearl forms for the first time their appearance is not up to them and fully customisable for whoever brings them to life? and how the only way a gem can change their looks is by their physical form is hurt beyond compare, but even then a gem is bound by their original form somewhat so a pearl can never fully choose their physical appearance despite them having the most varied forms of all gem society? and how in era 3 they can live for themselves now and dress and wear their hair however they want but whenever they look in the mirror they’ll still see the item they were formed as for another’s pleasure
the long-awaited sequel to "loper groceries", "loper on the balcony having a beer late at night."
Fuck off with that ben solo ressurected movie horseshit, the only redeemed dark sider who deserves a movie (and yknow, isn't dead) is Reva
Maybe I shouldn't be posting thoughts before I finish the whole story (I have been embarrassingly wrong before) but I realised something about Rose's interactions w her parents that reframes why she was so standoffish and unable to trust Blake (tho I do believe she came to truly care for him over time, before the Ur thing happened)
Rose's parents (esp her dad) have a way of manipulating her where they'll fake affection and love, then turn around and do something horrible. They were part of the whole plan to send her to a mental hospital, maybe planning that even when they first came to meet her, smiling, concerned, talking about mending bridges and connecting her and Ivy... hell, her dad was being all nice when the Thorburns came in in bulk. She also says she has a 'trick' to communicating w him, where she believes the exact opposite of whatever he's saying at any time. (Jesus, where's this guy's share of the Thorburn karma?)
So... it stands to reason that Blake (who repeatedly offers words, but not much else, at least at the start) would be slotted into the same category for her.
Started over in DAO because playing the mod that adds the human commoner origin because why not. And I usually play elves in DA so making a worldstate where I don't play elf is kind of fun and different. This does mean three humans and a dwarf is my heroes but I just can't find anyway to make my inquisitor be a qunari without having to change their whole story so human there too.
So yeah Aisling is now human who was sent to the circle because magic, only to not be good at anything and was a danger to everyone and almost got possessed, so she was made tranquil. What led to her family showing up to demand their child back, so they let them take her back only because she's tranquil.
This does lead to coming back wrong, family misses who she was before and can't connect with her anymore. Makes everything awkward so she tries to stay out of the way and let her family do their things without her freaking them out.
Aisling is normally found with the animals on the farm, she's not allowed to go into town because people find her creepy.
Duncan recruits her because she can surprisingly hold her own against the blighted wolves
Low-key Haggar was a more effective villain than Honerva but it’s like, whatever.
