it’s hard, to say the least, to let someone else in in a way she’s never really done before (not in the way she’s about to at least) — and she’s thankful in the moment that she’s alone with erin, upstairs in her lab. holtzmann had informed abby and patty earlier in the day, but she felt the need to tell erin on her own (and she wasn’t quite sure why). “ uh, so,” she starts, “ it’s getting worse. my hearing i mean. my uh, my left ear is pretty much completely shot. i don’t know what i’m going to do erin. ”

❛ Uhh, Erin? Don’t panic but it looks like there’s something GROWING behind your ear. – I tried to tell ya about kissing so much radioactive equipment… ❜ Her hand, which has previously been shoved in her pocket, moves up to brush the other woman’s hair back. Her hand is closed around a tiny twig of mistletoe which she then pretends to pull from behind her ear. Her eyes go wide before an impish smile tugs at her features and she holds it up over the two of them, wiggling it a little. ❛ Gotcha. ❜ And she glances up at the twig and shrugs. ❛ Hey, I don’t make the rules… ❜

Her arm lowers down to drape around Erin’s neck and reel her in, lips softly meeting hers. She’s slow about it at first, careful to make sure she doesn’t KNOCK their heads together but once they’re there and together she presses in a little more. One hand is buried in Erin’s hair and the other is pressed against the small of her back, the mistletoe having been abandoned to drop to the floor. // @shesascientist

Abby and Patty are out grabbing lunch, leaving Kevin at the front desk and Erin and Holtzmann in the lab. Holtz has been working on a stronger, stationary containment unit for the lab for the past few weeks and she’s nearly finished. It’s for this reason she decides to take a small break from her work to go see what Erin is working on. She loves Abby and Patty with all of her heart but she relishes the moments she gets alone time with Erin during the day. Pushing her goggles atop her head she walks toward Erin’s workspace, BUTTERFLIES FLUTTERING around in her stomach when she sees her scribbling down notes.

As she reaches her she winds her arms around the physicist’s waist and plants a kiss to her cheek before resting her chin on her shoulder. ❛ Whatcha workin’ on? ❜ She’s peeking at the myriad of books and papers sprawled across Erin’s desk in seemingly no discernible order; though she’s sure it all makes sense to Erin. One of the things that enamors her about her colleague is that she has such an organized mind but she’s a bit scattered when it comes to her work. In the end though SHE’S BRILLIANT, TOP-NOTCH. And Holtz is lucky enough to call her hers.

❛ Ooh. ❜ A certain sheet of paper catches her eye and she lets go of Erin’s waist and sits down beside her instead. ❛ Am I CRAZY or are those proton pack modifications? ❜ She pulls the paper closer and sits up on her knees to lean over it and look closer. ❛ Nice! ❜

"Okay... Okay, hospital. Hospital, now."

While the girls were out Kevin snuck into their lab and began to mess around with a few things. He found a prototype of some thing that Holtzmann was working on and began pushing buttons. Something went wrong and cause an explosion in his direction that sent the receptionist backwards into the wall. He banged his head so hard it knocked him out.

Once he heard Erin’s voice he began to come to. The blonde groaned and opened his eyes slowly, “I’m okay,” he lied, “I don’t need to go to the hospital.”

Sick rp Starters

Jillian started to thank Erin for the tissues but was cut of by a quick succession of sneezes. Once she was sure no more sneezes would come at the moment, she took the box from Erin and smiled weakly. “Thank you,” she said, pulling a tissue out and blowing her nose. There wasn’t a lot that Jillian hated in life but being sick was at the top of the list.
