Last Monday my sweet little girl Lenore passed. She was found up near the road where she'd been hit. I had no idea she was even outside. I thought she had tucked herself into some hidden spot and was napping as she often did. I'm sorry I've taken so long to post this but I loved her so dearly that the loss of her nearly staggers me and I simply couldn't write about it yet. Needless to say she is sorely missed and it will be a long while yet before I'm done crying bitter tears over her. Yes I still have two cats, and although dearly loved in thier own rights they are not her. She was unique and special. Lenore grew up thinking she was a dog and took many behavioral cues from Sammy. When Sammy was sent to his crate Lenore often went in with him. Any noise outside was met with her running to the storm door where she would slam her little feet into the glass just like Sammy so she could see outside. If Sammy was in my lap Lenore was often curled up next to him. She would accompany me daily when I did farm chores and would walk me from Chicken Coop to goat shed to my parents house and wait patiently outside at each spot until I was done and then we'd go home together. I called her my guardian. She would help with the inside chores by playing on the bed when I tried to make it and sleeping on the clothes when I was folding them. She nearly scared the life out of me a few times but I would gladly deal with that than with her loss. She wasn't with us nearly long enough but I pray she knew she was wanted and loved. I’m frustrated. I’m mad. I’m upset that someone so wonderful, so incredible tried to take their life and leave all the beautiful people they know behind. It’s sad that they can’t see the light they shine into people’s day to day lives. It’s sad they need another human being to reassure them of their elegance and beauty. It’s sad they take their body and grace for granted. It breaks my heart that this person can’t give their own self the love they radiate onto others
