In the back of her mind Fp was always it for her. She wanted to hate him and no matter how hard she tried it was never something that stuck. Even with them apart he didn’t seem to go far from her mind and unless she was to leave Riverdale, she would always have little reminders of him.
So months after Hal’s conviction she was falling back into old patterns she thought she had broken years ago. It was her and him against the world, or so it felt for her at the time. She should’ve known that it wasn’t going to last. She was a Smith girl and nothing of happiness lasted long before it was followed by the next heart break.
Alice was sure that Gladys was gone for good and that she was going to get her happy ending, but the universe was just lying in weight to pull the rug from under her stilettos.
He had finally gotten the life he had wanted. He was something of high standing, something he had always wanted and now he had it. He was on the right side of the tracks, making something of himself like he had promised her years ago he’d be. It was just that the family he had now was made up of his and Gladys’ kids, not the one she had carried and gave away.

It doesn’t matter now it’s over.
The blonde had been defeated, humiliated and worst of all she felt a fool. As she wiped at the few tears that escaped her eyes she let herself return to her car. Shutting the door she let the car start before she sat white knuckled at the wheel. A good five minutes of crying was spent before she could find the will to stop. Forcing the tears back she pulled down the visor and wiped away the mascara stained mess before reaching for her phone. Dialing her sister who she knew would understand her better than anyone in the moment.
“Hey Rubs what’s up?” She says as she tries to act cheery and as upbeat as she could muster. An act she was able to master and a routine that was so easy to fall into. “Hey, pack a bag and i’ll be there in about twenty. I’m thinking it’s time for a girl’s trip.”
