I don't really have much experience with anything other than CSP and SAI sadly.
SAI 2 is pretty good and single purchase iirc! Has less features than CSP though.
The one time I tried Krita it lagged horribly for me to the point it was unusable, but that was a few years ago at this point. Could be much better! Krita is free as far as I know.

So about the outbound au are the gems like angels or are they still gems but with wings
The gems in the skybound au are not angels at all! c: They are still made of hard light, have gemstones and have their abilities and stuff. They just live on Earth in cities in the sky and have wings.
Of course if any humans see them, they might confuse them for angels, but they are not.

My friend also passed away but from terminal colon cancer, she was just 67 years old and she definitely loved me even though she was an atheist, I know, she was a meme age lol, she was going to be 68 years old next new years eve, but oh well.
