general opinions: Oh my god??? I could talk forever about this loser. I honestly wasn’t expecting to finish KnB loving him as much as I do, but the backstory dropped and I just knew. I love how complex and deep his character is, and how much he adds to everyone’s story just by being the main antagonist. 10/10 character and character development, would highly recommend. 

Himuro:

general opinions: What a little shit. I mean... I love him to bits, but god damn if he’s not a brat. Which, honestly, is sort of refreshing. Considering most of the characters are only brats to certain extents. Himuro, on the other hand, straight up punches both Kagami and Mukkun because he’s pissy and upset he’ll never be as good as they are at basketball. Also a 10/10 character and adds a lot to Kagami’s story.

Midorin:

friendship them with: ?? He’s kind of a loner? So I’m not sure. 

general opinions: Loser. An actual loser. I love him so much, but oh my god. I’m still ridiculously excited about the fact he’s left handed, which automatically makes me partial to him. I also love his level-headed attitude and ability to (mostly) remain calm in drastic situations. Out of all the GoM, I feel like he had the most visible change, which is also incredible and makes me admire him a lot more.

Ahh, I still have to post chapter 8 of that orz.... For those who haven’t read it yet, the name of this fic is Permanent Home! 

How I came up with the idea: Through a conversation I had with you, I think. It was like... a crossover of some sorts, and we ended up saying how Akashi magically seemed to gravitate toward child-like people as friends. Then I thought “What if actual 6 year olds Lev and Mukkun”... and then I ran with the idea. 

My favorite part: Hasn’t come up yet, actually! But my favorite part of what I’ve written so far is probably when they first went home together. 

Something I found challenging: Um... Oh, keeping everything flowing together between chapters. That’s always been a struggle for me. 

Something I’m proud to have accomplished: Actually writing 8 chapters? I’m usually totally unable to keep myself motivated to write any more than maybe 2 and a half to three chapters for anything, so this is a huge thing for me.

how i came up with the idea: Well, I just wanted to explore my Kise’s self-esteem headcanons. And I wanted to write about Kise being good friend with Midorima and Takao. So one day I was listening to 2ne1 thought “What if I put all that... in a Model x Photographer AU?”

my favorite part: I don’t want to admit that, but it’s the part in which Aomine and Kise are ready to bang and Aomine realizes that he has no condoms, so he has to steal Kagami’s. This was one of the first scenes I imagined. I’m so sorry-

how i thought people would respond to the fic: I honestly didn’t think about it. I swear, I just started writing and I was super hyped and I wanted it to be a long study on how Kise saw himself and how his friends saw him and how Aomine saw him. That’s it. I never really thought about how people would react, even though I often think about that when I’m writing.

how people *actually* responded: It was pretty great?? I mean, lots of people left comments and kudos and sometimes my mutuals talk to me like “oh, you’re Ugly’s author! I read that fic, it was cool!” and I’m?? I’m so happy??? It was one of the first stories I wrote in English and I wasn’t even thinking about it, so it was pretty shocking whem people actually liked it????

17. “What are you talking about? I’m very mature.” 

Makoto wasn’t quite sure what he was expecting when he walked into his living room to find Tatsuya sitting on his floor with a children’s book. Or for that children’s book to be The Very Hungry Caterpillar. 

”Tatsuya...” The shorter boy started, his eyebrow raised in confusion. “Why are you sitting on my floor reading a book for kids?” Was it for an assignment? He couldn’t think of any conversations they’d had that had included needing an English picture book. 

Tatsuya didn’t seem to hear him at first, as he continued to hum quietly as he read the pages of the simplistic book. It took Makoto clearing his throat and knocking a book off the coffee table for him to look up. 

“What, Makoto?” The shooting guard frowned a little bit as he turned his head. “You didn’t have to knock that book off the table to get my attention, you know. You’re not a cat.” 

Makoto rolled his eyes and moved so he was in front of his boyfriend. “You didn’t hear me the three times I called for you, so I did what I had to.” He sat down cross-legged and looked down at the book. “Why are you reading that kid’s book?” 

Tatsuya shrugged and looked down. “I don’t know. Maybe I wanted to.” He looked back up and raised his uncovered eyebrow curiously--even though it looked more like surprise from Makoto’s viewpoint. “Why are you asking?” 

“I just thought it was kind of...” Makoto trailed off for a second and rubbed the back of his neck. “Childish? Of you to be reading a book meant for kindergarteners.” Honestly, it kind of was. Unless he was memorizing it for a reading at the library, there was virtually no reason to be reading that book. 

“It’s not childish, Makoto.” Tatsuya retorted defensively. “It’d be like me judging you for reading all those weird encyclopedias or science fiction books.” He paused and closed the book on his finger. “This book is very educational.” 

Makoto blinked in surprise. “What are you talking about, Tatsuya?” Had the other boy even slept in the past three days? It sounded like nonsense to him. “Also, you’re being kind of immature about it.” 

“What are you talking about?” Tatsuya leaned back a little bit in mock offense. “I’m very mature, Makoto.” 

Makoto rolled his eyes. “You haven’t slept at all this week, have you?” Tatsuya averted his eyes, and suddenly it all made sense. “Yeah, okay. Let’s go cuddle in my room. You’re going to take a nap.” 

For once, Tatsuya didn’t argue.
