Sterling had never been to this department before and he looked... very much out of place. Despite how comfortable he was with children and babies, he gave off a rather nervous appearance as he peeked into the room where Emily was. This situation was surely different. This situation was about his own. Not another agent’s child who had become his god child. Not a child he was babysitting.
His own.
“Excuse me. Are you the one in charge here?” He said, stepping in and taking a few steps closer. “I’m Agent Sterling. I’m here to tour the facilities. If I may. If you have a moment.
Emily rubbed her temples again and took a few deep calming breaths before pushing the speed dial for Mason's office. At this point in their relationship-they should be on a first-name basis. But it was early and she had gotten his voice mail. "Good morning, Agent Miller. While we're so happy to have Eva back in our care, I'm just calling to let you know that she went exploring again on her own. Molly found her on the way to the mess to get cookies. If you'd like to have a chat, you know where I'll be. (Shieldtots)

Though he had his moments of downtime Mason was fairly busy when it came to being in the office, in fact he was in a briefing when Emily had called and thus had missed it. A little over an hour later he was going thru his voicemails and the second he’d heard the voice he knew already, bringing his hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose and sighing under his breath. “How impossible is it to keep a dour year old contained.” He muttered to himself before promptly getting up and making his way to the daycare.
He walked in and stood off to the corner, arms crossed as he had a decent line of sight to Eva playing on the playground.
