Gallop is really important to me and I share it with people when they ask about my MS. Please watch.
Second short film by Multiple Sclerosis Shift.ms. Absolute must watch, very poignant and thought provoking.
Gallop.
A short film by Mother London and BAFTA nominated director Michael Pearce for Shift.ms, a web-based charity for people with multiple sclerosis. The film has already been shortlisted for Best Short Film at this year's Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.
Moving away from the typical approach of charities where stats and data are the core of the communication, this emotional film has been created to help better convey the impact of a diagnosis with MS.
"It uses narrative to explore the life-changing event of diagnosis through a compelling love story rather than solely focusing on the disease."
It breaks my heart that MS is the most common neurological condition affecting young adults. What Shift.ms is doing is a much needed approach not only to understand MS but also by being a social network run by its users where young MSers meet to share experiences and support each other. another place for people to connect on the interweb.... it seems like a positive and fairly cool site....
FINALLY!
M's got his appointment tomorrow for his Tysabri. In spite of his feeling a little lagged, we had a good weekend. He was able to find the energy to go to the studio and do some retouching on a shoot from last week. Did I mention that he's a photographer? He is. And a brilliant one at that.
But back to the weekend...
I hadn't seen him in nearly a week, a record for us, really. I'd gotten so used to seeing him 3-4 days in the week that missing out on a Saturday night seemed awful, but it gave me a chance to catch up on packing (I'm moving at the end of the month) and laze around with Bella. But Sunday was perfect. We went to lunch and talked and talked and talked. Watched a bunch of L & O episodes - never been a huge fan of the show but it was fun to provide commentary and guess where the bad guy was keeping the bodies. And slept - which to some would sound mundane, but there's something so safe about sleeping next to the person you love.
He mentioned that the last time I'd smoked pot around him (and he had some), he slept better. And that he maybe wanted to try it again. I'm not so sure that it's the way to go, but if it helps keep his legs calm at night, it can't hurt, can it....?
And I'm finding the most amazing resource in shift.ms - if you have any interest in MS, or know someone who has it - check it out. It's pretty amazing stuff.
