Shifter Redesigned
Like Corrupt, Shifter is an older OC of mine that also really needed a redesign. I actually posted him first on Instagram, but decided to wait until I get Corrupt done to post him here. Anyways, onto Character explanation.
Shifter is a Sans from an AU called DefenderTale. DefenderTale takes place during the monster and human war first, then switches to 10 years after the Monsters were first sealed underground, yes, this does make Shifter a veteran from that war alongside his brother, Cogs. This also means there’s little to no electricity in their universe, relying on magic and alchemy. This also makes Shifter technically an older Sans compared to a lot of the other Sans’s around multiverse due to the timeframe he comes in from. Also a bit stronger as well…can’t exactly be lazy or have 1 HP when you’re facing several strong and fully grown humans in a war. His role amongst the war was known as executioner…fighting for the justice of his kingdom, but also the monsterkind. He earned that title due to the pure fear he instilled amongst humans, with being a skeleton cloaked in shadow, carrying an axe with a massive bear skull atop of it, normally dripping with the blood of fallen souls, one would believe they had found the very visage of death itself, especially with how cold and ruthless he is during this war. Once the monsters were sealed underground, Shifter and Cogs stayed in the royal guard, training and patrolling the colder regions of the underground for any invaders.
3 years after the war, the 6th human fell into the underground, no one knew…until signs of footprints around Snowdin were spotted that didn’t match up to any of the monsters underground. Shifter was out on patrol, tracking the footprints, axe at the ready and hope of another soul to release his kind back up on the surface…stars how he missed the feeling of the sun…he stopped however when he found the human…a young child of 7 was lost…carrying an old teddy bear while looking up at the skeleton. This…made Shifter stop in his tracks of course. He had fought many humans, yes, but all of them were warriors…this was a mere child. He couldn’t kill them…with much thought…debating to give the child to the king…or to let them go, he decided to put the axe away and let the kid go free, but the little guy followed him. Shifter basically at this point hand to take the kid in, using his cloak to hide the fact the child was human. This human was named Koda…the soul of Kindness.
Now for the accident that happened, that will be explained more if I ever make Shifter’s comic :) His story is actually Nova’s stories sequel.
