Hello! I am aliveeee >< 

To be honest, Gintama has swallowed me alive so I’ve been very inactive on all my social media (because the occasional scream for help for someone to drag me out of Gintama Hell) 

BUT ANYWAY! I realised that the lines that Sa-chan-san from Gintama uses sounded familiar, COUGH COUGH YAISA YAISAAAAA 

And being the strange person I am, I know now more about the strange verses used in Yaisa Yaisa Yaisa in Hakumyu :O

Heisuke Hen Reflection

It’s 1:30 am, 2AM NOW I JUST FINISHED THIS i have uni tomorrow and I should be asleep but my Heisuke Hen feels are still keeping me awake ;w; 

Watching the whole thing in HD meant that Junya’s face was even clearer than before; his emotions and his passion just poured out not just on his face but through his whole body and everyone else matched his utterly fantastic performance and altogether they made Heisuke Hen very, very amazing.

I was so distracted by the odd feeling of having Yaisa Yaisa replaced by salsa yaisa the first time, and other music changes, but watching it properly for the second time (without the weird sounds of being on an airplane, coughs I watched it on the way back from Japan) really made me appreciate the soundtrack... 

The songs have a “salsa” feel to them, like I said before, but it’s consistent and very Heisuke-like in my opinion and I have to say I’ve actually grown to like it, as weird as it sounds and as much as I was complaining about it before, I’ve been converted :’D (Though the Live’s Yaisa Yaisa will forever be my favourite version) The songs were so strong, each one carried it’s weight, and the Shinsengumi one gave me so many shivers ;w; 

Basically, HAVE THEY RELEASED A SOUNDTRACK YET BECAUSE I’M THROWING MY WALLET AT THEM FOR IT!!!!

Okay, moving on from music, ahahah.... I’m just using the music rant to delay what actually is my real rant *coughs*a Junya rant*coughs* 

I wrote too much about Junya, so the rest is under the cut

Honestly, when I first watched Hakumyu, Saitou was interesting (because heck, he was the first main lead and Ryo is wonderful * v *) but at the same time, Heisuke!, he just appeared and stole the stage for me. At first he reminded me of the usual “type” of character I normally like, ENFPs (like myself) such as Hinata from Haikyuu or Eijun from Daiya no Ace, but then he became much more than just being a loud, energetic character, I realised that wasn’t all to his character. 

What Heisuke keeps fighting for and who he is, is so clearly expressed through the songs in the musical and I’m absolutely in love with the way they brought back that familiar Heisuke part (as a reprise from Yaisa Yaisa) at the end. 

“Minna no egao mitai...” My heart couldn’t take that moment at all. I was already tearing up from before but that reprise really brought the tears back into my eyes. /furiously fights the urge to scrub my eyes because I have night contacts in/ 

Heisuke honestly states he wants to see everyone smile. 

I think Heisuke’s goal is something I can really relate to. There is nothing better than being able to make someone smile, because once someone smiles at me, I can’t help but smile back and feel happy that I was able to make that happen. 

For Heisuke, who is lost about his ideals, he finds that his best role is to protect Chizuru. It’s hard to explain, but in a strange way, I see parts of myself in Heisuke, which is probably why I feel such a strong attachment to him. The way Heisuke found his path with Chizuru resonates with me as it reminds me of how amongst the choices he could make, he chose to protect her. 

The way Junya manages to jump and dance around happily in contrast to the way he wielded his sword, the way his face tightened as he held back his sobs at that scene with Chizuru felt so so real, and the way he moved like he was really in pain because of what he was going through both physically and emotionally, all of which made me just sit there and think, wow, this man is truly talented. 

The emotions he conveyed were very real and effected me, as someone who is watching a recording, I can’t begin to imagine what it would be like sitting there and watching him live. I have the luxury of pressing pause to calm myself and continue but if it was live, I’m sure I would have ended up crying more. 

It’s so inspirational to someone like me who loves theatre, not only as a fan but also as someone who once called myself an actress and dares to continue calling myself that. I really respect the amount of effort, energy, passion and strength to be able to take on such a role and give it so much life and character. 

I can’t even begin to express just how much I love Heisuke as a character and how much I love Junya as an actor; I can only hope that I’ll be able to do something worthwhile and make someone smile like the way Junya has for me. 

Being a fan of Japanese stage plays and musicals has really changed my life... To the point where I’m writing and writing and now it’s 2 AM ; ^ ;  But. I’m extremely happy and grateful that I’m able to watch and appreciate these musicals/stage plays from across the world... I wish to one day sit in the audience and watch one of the performances live, wouldn’t that just be the best thing. :’D
