A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 695

MY 12 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 695:

And with this chapter, I was finally able to unclench and breathe a sigh of relief. My KonTae dreams were once again possible. 

1) JOUI 4 REUNION!!! (Sort of)

2) I really like Sakamoto’s scruffy look and of course I love that he’s back with Mutsu and his Kaientai again. The family is once again whole.

3) I thought it was funny that Zura didn’t even think about enlisting Sakamoto at all and instead it was Shijaku who did. 

4) Crass yes, but still so freaking sweet.

5) That was as effective a way of downing the ship as anything else.

6) Seriously, I started feel bad for the terminal. It’s been destroyed so much. #Justice4TheTerminal!

7) I was thankful that Kondou survived that crash, along with his new gorilla brethren.

8) The great King of Gorillas.

9) Bless Princess Bubbles. I really did feel bad about my initial disdain of her. She is a real sweetie and definitely more than worthy of Kondou (but still, I wish her eternal happiness with her baby daddy).

10) Total music swell moment.

11) So much Joui love! My heart almost couldn’t take it!

12) And with that, our dear Shinsengumi gorilla was returned to us! UHOH!

SHIPS TALLY:

Sakamoto x Mutsu: I was so happy to see these two kids back together!!

Sakamoto x Shijaku: of course this totally contradict what I just said above and is completely going against my SakaMutsu dreams, but if Mutsu ever decided to ditch Sakamoto’s ass permanently, maybe Shijaku would have him. I just want Old Legolas to find himself a partner so he won’t have to be alone anymore.

Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just so freaking amazing.  It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s generosity that I can enjoy Gintama on yet another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.

Part of me think that all this hero who wears a mask is preparation to Gintama prequel where Zura wears mask while working in Naraku. I hope it is not going to be loincloth after all

Love is... when you finish each other sentences. Lol. And basically Katsura just told Taka that he is the most hated  guy. Well, I suspect Takasugi came to somehow make sure that Zura is not going to take part in their plan (because he CARES) and just to see Zura I suppose? At least that what was hinted during his conversation with Gintoki when they entered Edo. See you next week.
