Your Blanche cosplay is everything! I saw you at Otakon and even walked past you in artist alley, but I was way too shy to ask for a picture so I just stood there squealing quietly/gawking and can I just ask HOW INT HE WORLD DID YOU PULL OFF SUCH AN ACCURATE COSPLAY IN SUCH LITTLE TIME? p.s. I really wanna cosplay as Blanche (someday), unfortunately I don't even know where to begin ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you so much!!It's hard to describe but it's kind of like when you're watching all those competition shows on Food Network and the chefs make something crazy in 30 mins and you're sitting there wondering 'how the heck did they do that of the top of their head' and it's the exact same concept. When you've been sewing for long enough, you remember the patterns and the steps and soon enough you look at a costume design and think "Oh, I know how this should come together (probably)".That and I don't sleep ah.

Mikazuki Munechika wig process! Step one is actually something like step 5 since the base wig is the top and bottom half of two different wigs and the grey bits are sewn in extensions as well. I was picky about the wefting style (if you use a wig with circular or button skin top wefting, it’s very difficult to get a full side part) but I also needed a thick enough back, so I had to do some serious Frankenstein-ing.

But airbrushing gradients into wigs is my favorite thing *A* I forgot I ran out of purple fw ink, so I might order some and rebrush a bit of the top.

#Twinning 

After a disappointingly tame haunted house, mylifeasaweapon, chessy-tan, and I got back from ihop at about 2am, had tea, and realized that Kuroo was kidnapped from a chicken coop at birth(hatching). Douchebag grin attempted. Result... pending.

weren't you making a mask for kaneki ken, or was that another cosplayer i follow? w he e ze. if youre actuall the one that was making it, how did you go about making a pattern for it?

That's me!

For patterning, I tightly wrapped the lower half of my face in plastic wrap and packing tape (BE SURE TO LEAVE YOUR MOUTH OR NOSE OPEN FOR BREATHING. In fact, having a friend help you here is so much better). I cut that open from the back, then snipped away at it until I had flat pattern pieces. Two for the front, an under-chin piece, then two for the neck. Then I made a copy in paper and made sure I could tape it together smoothly:

And that's your pattern! Basically I just drafted the pattern directly onto my face.
