Don't ask me, the muse is taking me on a tour all on its own! I'm just tagging along, and getting artgasms from the shimmer inks.

Dip Pen Practice 2
The first quote was done using the metal dip pen I own, while the second quote was used using the chipped glass dip pen. I've learned a few things.
I actually wasn't going to use the chipped glass dip pen, but after having to make a bit of effort to write, I wanted to see what a broader nip would do to the ink. Ever since it got chipped the glass pen doesn't right as finely as it used to.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but the ink is actually a shimmer ink, and now I understand why the recommendation is a medium to broad nib on a fountain (beyond making sure it doesn't clog). A wider stroke makes the glimmer more obvious. Not to say the fine writing isn't pretty but if you really are getting shimmer inks for the shimmer part, try not to use a fine nib if possible I think.
Also, I'm really, really missing a proper glass dip pen. Again, weird ease of use, though the metal dip pen writing turned out very well.
