Hello world! This is Kai. This is the first post in regard to the commune/experiment/vibe we’re creating. The genesis of the Temple occurred at the beginning of summer. I had recently gotten really into Psychic TV and The Psychick Bible by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and wanted to do something in a similar vein. We originally conceived the thing as being the Salt Lake City channel for Temple ov Thee Psychick Youth-- but as the idea developed we found that it would be more in the spirit of the thing to do something original.
The name comes from a rejection of English as a standardized language. An alternate name for our group is simply, “The Love Brigade” which is inspired by the terrific song by Lee Mavers entilted, “Liberty Ship.” The name in pidgeon French (I don’t actually speak or read French terribly well) is a loose translation of, “The Love Brigade.”

Bouche Bee-- This is where things get interesting. In my studies I discovered the lovely French phrase, “ 'Rester Bouche Bée” which means to open one’s mouth wide in wonder or astonishment. Tracing the etymology of this word it actually descends from Dante’s use of the word, “agape” in the Divine Comedy
“ He chance to enter, round him stares agape,
Confounded and struck dumb; e’en such appear’d”
Technically Dante didn’t speak or write English and this use stems from an English translation of his seminal text but still; the idea’s there. Students of philosophy and theology will take note of the fact that the English word, “Agape” is spelled identically to the Greek word, “ ἀγάπη, agápē “ which in the Greek versions of the Bible is the word used to describe the Love God has for the world. It is a sort of unconditional Love. One might say that the meaning of our name is, “The Brigade of God’s Unconditional Love for the World” but that would be a mouthful, don’t you think?
We are an open organization. We promote positivity in thinking and conduct. We are here to promote the simple idea that transcendental Love is not just a religious concept-- It is something that actually exists in the world. We offer programs for free group meals, music education programs, Love gatherings, sex-positive liberation, and private spiritual counseling. Our spiritual philosophy is eclectic. We draw inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita, the Japanese practice of Cha No Yu (The Art of Tea), Gnostic and Mystical Christian practices, Shin Buddhism, and Sufism.
