Boba Reunion excerpt

@nev-telen you asked for an excerpt from boba reunion, one of my prides and joy so I’mma give you some of my favorite paragraphs in the middle of the story.

They were nearly the same height, with Hitoshi a little under two inches taller. Yuuji had shaped out a little more since their first year of middle school but Hitoshi knew the pure raw strength in those limbs. It wasn’t a quirk – Yuuji was a registered quirkless kid after all. Just pure…. Yuuji Itadori. Hitoshi flashed a half smile and it earned him a beam.

(He would be lying if he said that his heart didn’t stutter in his chest, the same emotions from when they were friends. Yuuji had only gotten more attractive over the years. Hitoshi had thought that those emotions had gone away. He thought wrong.)

“Hey Yuuji. Long time no see.” Instinctively, Hitoshi opened his arms and Yuuji left the other two kids’ side to jump at him. It was weird to be hugged, having the weight and warmth of another person so close to him. After he moved away from Yuuji, hugs became scarce until they became non-existent in Hitoshi’s life. As a result, he knew he was touch-starved. Yet Hitoshi hated people touching him. Touch had become associated with not so good things.

Yuuji’s head fit perfectly under his own and Hitoshi gladly plopped his head down into the pink locks. The arms around his waist squeezed before Yuuji stepped back to stare at him, a blinding smile aimed at him. Just like middle school, Hitoshi felt a genuine smile stretch over his own face. Everyone in his class tripped over themselves when it came to Midoriya or Kirishima or Kaminari’s smiles. The day that Kirishima beamed at Bakugou and the blond had blown himself up was one that would go down in history. But to him… nothing could compare to having Yuuji Itadori’s smile directed at you.
