Hey so I took six years of Latin in middle and high school, but at my uni they don't have any classics. Like at all. What do I do with all this Latin now?

yell about lesbians, apparently.

but actually? translate some shit or something. i don’t know. you have the power to translate the entire aeneid if you so choose. go forth and conquer. you don’t need academia to use your skills

translate tv shows into latin? i’ve always done stuff like that. you know they have harry potter in latin? the first two books, anyway, i think. you could read harry potter in latin! 

or just get really excited about recognizing etymology of words like “pulchritude.” truly, the world is your oyster

if i still had the bit of star trek that i started translating once i’d send it to you

also, a suggestion: the one episode of doctor who where they’re in pompeii and technically the tardis is translating their words to latin so they’re all speaking latin the whole time

Japanese Type 97 Shinhoto (”new turret”) Chi Ha from the 26th Tank Regiment dug in on Iwo Jima in February 1945. 

This was one of only 11 Type 97's deployed to Iwo Jima at the time of the U.S. invasion.
