How I feel about this character

"Hi There, 'Angel of Death.' Didn't you say old age was something for Englishmen to enjoy? Didn't you say you'd refuse prosperity that lacks pride? When you were aged, you were trillions, quadrillions of times more beautiful than this. Look how ugly you are now. Mind and Body, you've become Death."

I do not deny the years I spent with him as a close comrade, but, I think that I may have overestimated him in that time. In the end, he was revealed to be too much like every other human; still a brat, caught up in a child's pissing contest of strength.

[[Sometimes, I think that Alucard can be a little harsh judge of Walter's character, although much of what he said was true. Personally, I think that as Walter aged he spent his life giving genuine care to Integra and Seras. However, he could never shake that fear of death that had haunted him since childhood, and finding the decision he had made difficult to reverse, he decided to go through with it when the time came.]]

All the people I ship romantically with this character

No one. I doubt Walter had much time for romance during his fighting days. A brat can't think much of anyone besides himself, anyhow.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

None. [[I think that, in some ways, Alucard would like to write Walter out of the Hellsing family history. However, in my opinion, old war comrades Girlycard and Walter are hilarious together. Also Walter and Seras, because their teamwork during the Valentine invasion is YAY]]

My unpopular opinion about this character

Walter and I were never sexually or romantically involved. Did I tease him? Of course. Was there tension between us? Yes, you wouldn't expect any other reaction from a teenage brat. As much as Walter may have thought otherwise, he was, in some ways, as vulnerable as any other boy his age. To take advantage of that vulnerability would have been disturbingly reminiscent of my own childhood experiences.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

It would have been nice if he had been less of an idiot in Warsaw and didn't make some very poor decisions. [[Sorry, Alucard, but Walter's betrayal was kind of epic. Personally, I wish The Dawn would hurry up and finish so that we could see more of what went down in Warsaw.]]
