One of the things I look up to every korean drama I watch is to see a bit of myself in every character.

My Just Watched Drama – Shining Inheritance/Brilliant Legacy
Ok then, I cannot think of anything to place as a title – hence I came up with ‘Just Watched’, though I have 2 meanings for this, as I just literally just finished watching it and at the same time, I just continued watching it for the sake of ‘just watching’ it, not sure why I did so, but maybe because of Lee Seung-gi, been a fan of him and I think I have watched most of his dramas. LSG is a great actor hence I enjoyed watching him.
So, Eung Sung (Han Hyo-joo) went to Korea for school break, she’s studying in New York and one of her reason is to bring her autistic brother, Eun-woo (Yeon Joon-seok - who I need to give credit to as he was a real talented actor, he delivered his character so well – hats off to you), to the United States to study music, as he is a piano genius. Sunwoo Hwan (Lee Seung-gi), who was also studying in New York, was asked by his grandmother to return to Korea to learn how to manage her food company. Eun-sung and Hwan, were on the same flight back home, and their story started when they mistakenly had their hand luggage exchanged, the beginning of several misunderstandings between them.
Eun-sung's father, runs a construction company and was on the verge of bankruptcy, the only way he can think of to save his family from starvation is for him to commit suicide so the family can get his life insurance. The day that started it all is when the thief who stole his wallet and watched died in a gas explosion accident, due to the unrecognizable body, and the stepmom of Eung Sung just relied on the watch and ring of his dad that the thief was wearing and she confirmed to the authority that it is indeed her husband, she had the body cremated without even discussing it with Eung Sung. His father saw the news and eventually decided to lie low and not tell his family that he was alive in order for his family to claim the life insurance money and use it to clear the debts. However his wife, Baek Sung-hee (Kim Mi-sook), being so selfish and money centered kicked her stepchildren (Eun-sung and Eun-woo) out of the house after collecting the insurance money and bought a new house with her daughter, Yoo Seung-mi (Moon Chae-won) who happens to be Hwan's longtime best friend and she’s so in
Eun-sung asked for help from several of her friends, but since she’s no longer the rich girl, she was being avoided except for Hye-ri – who I seriously adored in the drama. She ended up working as a waitress and met the rude Hwan and the story continues. The same time she lost her brother because Hwan stepped on her mobile phone – hence they were not able to inform her that her brother disappeared.
In the interim, the grandmother of Hwan is disappointed in him as he is just squandering and is not grateful for what he has, in additional for not showing interest in running nor care for the company that her grandma and father built. One day Sook-ja (grandma) went to the place where she used to live with her young son when they were poor he fell down the stairs and Eun Sung saw her and took her to the hospital but since she cannot remember anything she just decided to bring her home until she regains her memory. Eventually grandma got her memory back and she was grateful of Eun-sung and then asked her to live with her and grandma promised to look for her brother.
When Eun-sung was introduced to her family and that she was going to live with them and that she was going to appoint Eun-sung as the heir of her food company, if she could raise the profits of the sinking second branch by 20%. Eventually she was able to do so with Hwan slowly realizing that he was immature before, tried and did his best to become a good employee and a good grandson and at this time, they fell in love with each other. Then the family once again reunited which is the one of the best scene ever.
I am not sure why I am doing this review right now as I have mentioned – I just watched it just for the sake of watching, maybe subconsciously I liked it, who knows. By the way I almost forgot, there is one scene in this drama that I teared up actually, it is when Seung Mi (the step sister) asked Hwan to do one last thing together before she say goodbye as she and her mom will leave and go somewhere to start fresh after repenting. They rode a bus, then Seung Mi asked Hwan to just go and leave her in the bus, when they looked at each other and Seung Mi just smiled one last time – boom I cried.
Anyway can’t recommend it as it did not leave any great marks on me but yeah why not, if you feel guys that you want to see this drama – go ahead – for me it ain’t that great and it ain’t bad either. Just so-so.
So now, on to my next one – Mirror of the Witch, been a while since I haven’t seen a Fusion Sageuk drama so maybe this is the perfect one for me…I will post once I finished watching it, or while I am into it if it I like it a lot (like what I did with Empress Ki and Kill Me Heal Me)..xoxo
My Rewatched Drama – Boys Over Flowers
The classic and the KDrama addiction culprit, it started all with BOF, this is the second KDrama that I am re watching, well I have no clue at all why I am doing this but maybe I don’t have anything else to watch right now, been jumping from one drama to the other, old and new and nothing really catches my interest, hence I wanted to see again BOF just to have that KDrama fire – burn again and will continue watching whatever dramas I am juggling right now.
So every one of us – fanatics - might have watched this maybe not once but few times already. Aside from the boys and Jan Di I think it’s how is it made or delivered, though it is a remake from the Japanese and Taiwanese drama, I still do wanted to watch it again. Oh and by the way before I started this rewatching few days ago, I was browsing Viki (where I usually watch Asian Dramas) and trying my luck if Meteor Garden is in there, unfortunately nada. As it is the one that I really wanted to watch again (for the nth time). During the heat of Meteor Garden I was so hooked, had even a tattoo copied – imagine the craziness of me. When the boys went to the Philippines for their concert, bought a ticket right away, queued under the rain for 6 hours for a freaking 1.5 hours show and the venue of the concert was outdoor and it was so muddy as it rained for the whole afternoon. After the concert went home so wet and muddy, took a shower, slept for 1 hour and off I go to a morning shift at work. This is just one thing that I clearly remember on how crazy I was to them. I have been following them for years until I get over them (or did I?)
Oh yeah that’s the story on how I got so addicted to Asian Dramas. When I heard the Koreans are doing a remake – I remembered telling myself not to watch it just to respect my craziness with the Taiwanese F4, but yeah it’s the story that I really want to see and of course the curiosity on who made it better, so there goes...and I watched BOF few years back, and here I am again, watching it.
I have briefly watched the first episode of Angel Eyes and I saw Jan Di and I stopped, maybe this is one of the reason why I am watching BOF again as I miss her after seeing her so pretty in Angel Eyes.
Do I really need to tell you the story of BOF? I don’t think so as all of you must have seen it already. It is an Asian Cinderella version with additional 3 prince charmings – would choose any of them really! Who would tell me no…
While watching BOF, I really cannot stop myself thinking about Meteor Garden and something in me just wanted to stop and look for it and just watch it just to satisfy this urge to see them again though I have watched it thousand times already. Will probably do that somehow again in the future. For now I am watching a not-so-old-but-old Kdrama – Shining Inheritance/Brilliant Legacy and will post my 2 cents after I finished the whole thing...xoxo
