It was a quiet day at the Hakurei Shrine, as always. No worshipers, no visitors at all barring the few youkai, and the witch that was friends with Reimu, who seemed to be out for the day. Perhaps there was an incident, or more than likely, the maiden was off attempting to find some way to either gather more faith at her shrine, or make money for it...or she was just goofing off. Either way, Suika was sitting in Reimu’s home, drinking from her gourd. Since there was nothing to do, she was going to drink.

Not that that’s not what she usually did anyway, but without anyone to converse with she had nothing to do...or at least that’s what she thought. That is, until she remembered the existence of another resident of the shrine...it was only a matter of finding her. “Oiiii, Shinmyoumaru, are ya here? A spider or somethin’ didn’t eat ya did it?”

How did her people kill any of the great Teachers? Maybe she’s just a really short Inchling? Maybe the other ones were taller… Wait, isn’t she supposed to be locked up in one of the Hakurei shrines? Wouldn’t a needle be more of a spear than a sword? That seems silly. Can’t have an edge on a needle. Or! Maybe she just sharpens one side. Probably feels like a papercut. WAIT! Why  did Honored Kijin work with someone whose people kill Oni? That doesn’t make sense. Must ask her later.

“What is up with shrines and stairs?!” Tenshi cursed as she finished climbing the last step towards the Hakurei shrine. She leaned down, resting her hands on her knees and catching her breath before wiping off sweat from her forehead. Once she recovered and caught her breath, Tenshi looked up at the shrine and smiled. Instead of walking forward towards the front entrance and the donation box, the celestial began to walk around the side of the shrine. Surely Reimu was slacking off again in the porch, drinking tea. Tenshi giggled at her own imagination.

“Reimu! I came to play!” The celestial said out loud, jumping in front of the porch. A Reimu-less porch. Putting down her oversize backpack on it, she climbed the porch and slid open the doors to the shrine

“Reimu! .......... Reimu?”

Tenshi waited for a couple of seconds, but she didn’t hear a single response. Was Reimu not home? She’d usually be scolding Tenshi for making such a racket. The celestial knelt down and began to undo the knot on her boots and slid them off, something she should’ve done before stepping on the porch, and took a step inside. It didn’t reek of sake either, so Suika mustn't be around. Surely someone was home.
