first travel prompt done! i wrote this during the drive to the airport. i'm at the airport now, who knows how much i'll get done on the flight... if i don't get them all done during my travels, i'll finish them today or tomorrow.

this is based off this video by james veitch.

"Kino. We need to talk." 

Kino knows exactly what Shin is talking about when he steps into their apartment, still in his work uniform. 

He feigns innocence anyway.

"What do you mean?" Kino says, fighting back a smirk as he keeps his attention fixed on his game. 

"The ducks, Kino."

"What ducks?"

"The ducks in the bathroom!" Shin yells, "I was in a rush to leave for work this morning and I couldn't shower until I moved a hundred tiny ducks!" 

This time, Kino fails to hold back the smirk. "You counted them?"

"What?! No! I was exaggerating!"

"It was pretty spot on. There's a hundred of them."

"You– Where did you get one hundred tiny ducks?!"

"Amazon." 

"What do you need one hundred tiny ducks for?!"

"I was messing around with them. I made an army at one point around the sink," Kino explains, "I made some blockbuster hits too. My rendition of the Titanic was quite emotional."

"Why?!"

"Because I'm just a silly little guy. You can't be mad at me." 

With the heaviest sigh in the world, Shin smacks his head then walks over to Kino and knocks the Nintendo switch out of his hand. He keeps glaring but Kino can't take him seriously even if he wanted to.

"Get rid of them," Shin says, "Or I will." 

"Hmm…" Kino gives his best pout. Until he has an idea, and once again has to fight back a devious smile. "Just one?"

Though Shin appears as if he's trying to refuse, he submits to Kino's puppy eyes. "Fine. Just one."

The next morning, Shin has very low expectations. He even gets up early in preparation for throwing away a hundred ducks. 

Kino is still asleep after being up until 4am gaming, and Shin is definitely waking him up if he's not done as he's told.

Bracing himself, Shin opens their bathroom floor and his jaw drops.

Now he sees his error. 

"Just one" giant inflatable duck, over two meters tall, taking up the entire bathroom. 

"Goddammit, Kino!" Shin yells, marching back to their bed and launching their Ikea shark at the other's head.

"Hnh…?" Kino groans before meeting Shin's burning glare. Instead of thinking of an actual excuse, he sits up and just says, "Quackers!" 

Every single day, Shin questions why he's dating this idiot.

dumb crackship trivia: since shin is associated with wolves and kino’s associated with ravens, the symbolism makes for an interesting ship dynamic as ravens (i think it’s specifically ravens but it could be crows) actually help wolves locate food!
