Evening y’all! Welcome back to Superphantom Saturdays!! If my math is correct (crossing my fingers here) we’re at three months now??? Wild! This week please check out;

“The Family Business” by @shinobicyrus 

It’s a clever retelling of the DP story in the SPN universe, centering Jazz. It mirrors SPN s1, and just has /incredible/ writing and such great concepts and ideas, and- I have theories okay, seriously, I love this one!! 

Now, this one isn’t finished and it won’t be, BUT I think unfinished stories are just as valuable as finished or ongoing ones (though I promise I’ll post some finished/ongoing stories on this series if that’s something y’all’d prefer)!! I mean, what is an unfinished story but an unintentional oneshot? I think after rephrasing my thinking as such I’ve been able to enjoy many more stories that I otherwise never would’ve given a chance, and yeah it’s a little sad when its over, but it inspires imagination! There’s more to think about, y’know? 

Anyways, tangent over, go follow the author!! They’re currently posting a ton of awesome looking Disney stuff, Gravity Falls, Paranorman, and much more!! I absolutely adore their writing style, so I’m absolutely going to be keeping up to date on their ao3 account ^^. As always, remember to leave a review! Just because the story is over doesn’t mean the writer won’t appreciate hearing from you!! Don’t underestimate how valuable your thoughts, as a reader, are.

Your art style reminds me of sharp edges that have been smoothed, and your coloring style kind of remind me of watercolor - flowing, soft, and lacking intensity but still strong.

Ohh thank you! “Sanding sharp edges” is actually pretty close to how it feels to carefully erase a busy sketch until I find the lines I want to keep, so maybe that shows! And thank u for the nice words about my colors. ❤️🎨

Brigitte goes live tomorrow! Have you tried her out on PTR yet? What are your impressions of her?

I have played a bit of her, and I like her! Very tanky. If you have good positioning, it’s very hard for people to hit you, and the flail and the shield bash mean you can quickly disable flankers and peel for other healers. 

Like Moira, she needs to be offensive to heal, and her passive heal is proximity based which means she works well as support for the main tank (how lore-y). Her stun and knockbacks are fantastic for rescuing people from stuns, hooks, etc. If you have very good timing, you can get environmentals with her knockbacks, but they’re smaller than other characters’ knockbacks so you have to have better timing. 

I’m not fantastic at using the shield bash jump just yet (there are only a couple of places I can do it reliably), but that’s my next project. I plan to play a lot of her to get used to her - and I have 3000 gold comp points waiting to give her the beautiful gold mace flail she deserves~

Also, re: the ‘Another no-aim support!’ Um. Dude. You try hitting an airborne Pharah who’s right above you with your flail, or a Genji who’s buzzing around you like a blowfly and then you tell me you don’t need aim to play Brigitte…
