"Hey, Abby." A pause. How to even phrase this, without making it awkward? Well, it was Christmas after all, and children do usually expect gifts around this time. Sou wasn't really used to handing a lot of them out, especially not to children, so he chose to just wrap his gift for her, around her neck. Since it was the cute scarf he got for some reason when arriving here. The design was cute indeed, and therefore much more fitting for her, than for someone like him. "Stay warm, Merry Christmas."
“ —– hm ? ” she whips her head towards the call of her name, spoken in a tone so familiar and warm. her lips part to return the greeting, but was cut off by the gasp that escapes her when something is wrapped around her neck. a look of surprise shapes her gaze, before she looks down at the long wrapping. small digits peek out from the long sleeves of her dress and run down the soft fabric of what appeared to be a scarf —– oh, what a cute kitty-cat face it had etched on, and were those little feet and whiskers ?
abigail smiles brightly, her cheeks flushing pink. christmas was not a holiday celebrated back in salem. fears of sin and straying away from god’s word during celebration made for strict observation. it was through chaldea that was she able to experience the holiday spirit in its entirety and experience the gift of giving. however, little did she think presents would arrive here in this city of lost souls too.
“ ah, sou, you didn’t have to ! ” she claims, feeling completely unprepared for it. after all, it would be considered rude to accept such a wonderful item without sharing and bringing a sense of happiness in turn; she will have to think of something later. for now, abby presses the scarf close to her face in an indirect hug for sou, softly speaking her thanks, “ thank you. i love it so much. ”
