Welcome, to the world of Baja Blast!

My name is Professor Berry 🫶

After many years of studying Pokemon, I was lead down the rabbit hole of a special phenomenon known as Shiny Pokemon. While seemingly no more or less capable than any regular Pokemon, these Shiny Pokemon come in colours and patterns distinct from others of its species!

This, of course, is a well-documented phenomenon. However, my purpose as a Pokemon researcher is to document a very unique and lovely subset of Shiny Pokemon that I have dubbed “Baja Blast Shinies.”

And wouldn’t you know it? As it turns out, I already have a few endearing specimens in my collection!

Therefore, I have decided to create my own Pokedex, known as the Baja BlastDex, in order to categorize them, as well as document my journey in catching ‘em all!

Each Pokemon I catch will receive special attention in their own unique Dex Entry Post, as well as get added to the below list of the full Baja BlastDex. If you would also like to join me in this journey, feel free to share pictures of your own Baja Blast Pokemon Pals and tag me!!

After over 800 hours across many, many years, I've finally done it. I've completed my Pokemon Uranium living shinydex, including all available nuclear Pokemon. Plus a bonus of my shiny hunted Mystery Gifts :)

The gap from 192-194 is because the Uranium dex isn't actually complete, so those Pokemon are currently unobtainable.

Longest single hunt was Urayne (shocker, I know), clocking in at 42 hours and 42 minutes. Longest group hunt was for a couple shiny nuclear Pokemon at the first power plant because I was dumb and thought I didn't need to get the shiny charm that early. Joke's on me, I spent nearly 70 hours there trying to find the two 5% encounters ;-; I learned my lesson after that and promptly spent the next few hours trading Pokemon over from my main file to get the shiny charm.

Base shiny odds in the game are 1/1024. With shiny charm, they drop to 1/341. sooooo I really like shiny hunting in pokemon games and I thought it might be a cool idea to maybe try for a shiny living dex as that's always been a dream of mine. Unfortunately a lot of my old shinies actually have my deadname as the OT from before I came out as trans, so I have decided to not include them in my shiny living dex and instead I have started from scratch. Here is my progress after one year of on and off shiny hunting and I assure you that there is plenty more to come! Maybe this will hold me accountable LOL
