Not for anything (Pokemon Rant)
But I’m getting really tired of people using the time skip method while connected to the Internet instead of using their local connection on Pokemon Sword/Shield.
A handful of times, I can understand cuz maybe they forgot they were connected, but it’s becoming so frequent that it’s like every one out of 4 raids disconnect due to the ‘Host has stopped looking’ notification. In my quest to find a G-max Shiny Toxtricity, I’ve been trying to help people take down their targets and maybe find some surprise shinies along the way (I’ve noticed shiny hunters are showing up more often during the early morning hours my time. I’ve already had five G-Max shiny Gengars elude me.)
Look, I’ve played around with the exploit and I promise that it does the exact same thing on your local connection that it does on the Internet connection. Honestly, I find it quicker on the local connection. I don’t use it to shiny hunt considering I think the Masuda method and KO encounters are quicker but it does work. I’ve had more luck with those methods. I’m not condemning the time skip method, I can see how it can come in handy with filling the Pokedex, but PLEASE do it on your local connection.
While I’m at it, a HUGE thanks to those who don’t Shiny Flex in raids for the sake of Shiny Flexing, i.e. entering a raid with a clear type disadvantage Shiny pokemon just to show it off. I’ve already been kicked out of several dens due to the shiny flexers passing out four times from type disadvantage when everyone else is holding their own. I get it, finding Shinies is a big deal and I’m happy you were able to get one but PLEASE do not bring it into a raid battle where you know you will get wiped out. Everyone involved is either after the Pokemon or the goodies at the end or both so it’s a bit of an inconvenience when we’re blown out of a den. We already have crappy NPCs that can cause that. There’s a raid for every type and a time to use the shiny you got.
OH! And for those having trouble getting the Raid cards to change, use the Swap Cards option and put a four-digit number (Hopefully one that no one is searching for) in and leave it there. The Raid cards will change quicker and extend your chances of getting into newer raids. Just remember to put the code back in after you’ve been successful in entering a raid.
