Highest of recommendations for the main event of today's DDT show: Yuki Ueno vs Shinya Aoki. I think it's my favourite Aoki match I've ever seen and it's up there with my favourite Ueno matches of his incredible title reign.

Every moment of it felt like a struggle, which is something I really value in wrestling. Ueno is forced out of his comfort zone, but he shows exactly why he's one of the best in the world by adapting to an Aoki-style match, even as he's constantly on the back foot. The crowd is silent for a lot of it, which is usually a bad sign, but here it's because they're watching with the kind of focus that this match demands.

I won't give away the result, but the finish is the perfect logical conclusion to everything that's come before. Really smart, really compelling wrestling. Well worth your time imo!

Yuki Ueno: Everyone that participated in the tournament was so cool. I fell even more in love with DDT. Aoki-san was incredible for becoming number one among them. The greater the love, the better the pro wrestling that is born from it.
