Clara’s Dance Partner
This story is a fan fiction story of @ShinyZango’s The Last Nutcracker story. All characters , story and setting belong to her.
Clara had always had mixed feelings about parties . She loved the music and of course who wouldn’t love delicious food but her least favorite was the socializing Clara had very few friends besides her family and godfather Drosselmeyer she rarely hung out with people her own age.
Most of the girls Clara worked with had families of their own or kept their relationships at work separate and dancing with a partner was extremely uncomfortable to Clara she knew that a young lady always had to have her dance card filled but sadly Clara’s was always empty it hurt her feelings a little but the idea of dancing with someone who would only talk about themselves hoping she would boost their ego which she never would or will do but the worse was when some would try to pinch her bottom or make fun of her for having a job being a professional ice skater because that’s something women don’t do Clara heard so many times but had to bite her tongue to keep the peace or being called strange for collecting and mending dolls and then she would accidentally step on their foot ( but of course she did it on purpose to shut them up but would never admit to it ) after awhile men stopped trying to attempt to sign her dance card .
So Clara just stood off into the distance of the room enjoying the many sweets the party had to offer but then she heard a familiar voice. Why Miss. Cara can I have this dance ? she turned around with cream puff on her face to see her Godfather Drosselmeyer standing there he was trying to hold back his laughter because she remind him of how his nephew Hans. Hans would always do the same thing at Royal balls always being caught at the desert table with food on his face. Clara grabbed a napkin and wiped her face and said of course I couldn’t say no to my godfather.
Drosselmeyer then took her hand and wrote his name on her card then they took to the dance floor Clara felt so happy he was there he was the only man at the party that she would ever want to dance with. Drosselmeyer was so glad he could help Clara not feel so out of place at theses events it always broke his heart that someone so kind had very few friends.
He felt the same way about his Hans as well after awhile the music stopped and it was time for dinner Clara offered for him to come sit by her and he agreed but he wished that one day his Hans would be able to join them as well and Hans so that he could enjoy a great time as well and he also hoped that Hans and Clara would meet one day and would have each other and they would never be alone again.
