Well, happy April fools! But I also want to take a moment for the 150th anniversary of the steamship SS Atlantic, which sank on April 1st 1873...
Out of all 952 people on board, only 429 survived.
All women were lost.
Only one child survived.
It would be the deadliest shipwreck in the North Atlantic until the SS La Bourgogne in 1898.
And the worst disaster of the White Star Line until the RMS Titanic in 1912.
And this is not an April fools joke...
[DISASTER] Six Hanar Prayers Answered
By Quoyle Prot, Kahje Headlines The surveyor ship Chas’seur was believed lost after suffering engine failure on its orbital approach. This one is told the accident occured during a security maintenance cycle, which caused delays from rescue crews as the ship’s loss of power caused its signal trace to disappear. These teams searched for two days to recover it, but the vessel and the six hanar onboard were feared lost to space. In what this one is pleased to report is a happy conclusion, the Chas’seur has since docked at one of First Land’s orbital stations. The ship was towed in by a passing freighter, which then took off before authorities arrived. The hanar aboard have since been taken to medical care, and this one is told all will recover from the ordeal. “This one and his crew had thought all hope lost,” Ship Captain Hinribrogam said in a statement to Kahje Headlines.. “Our ship was beyond repair, and all we could do before we froze to death was pray. We prayed, and the Enkindlers answered our call when a ship locked onto our port and delivered us a gift: a gift of sweaters. This gift of sweaters answered our prayers for warmth, and the gift of the other ship answered our prayer to return home. Praise to the Enkindlers.” Prayers of Hanar answered, Praise to the Enkindlers indeed.
The second time I tried to draw an Ocean liner, this time it's SINKING though.
I also made a little something for the 150th anniversary of the SS Atlantic
