Whenever I feel upset about something or someone, I find myself drawing familiar things such as portraits of comfort characters. Recently, I've been drawing ships, something I haven't done in quite a while, at least not to this extent, but which is honestly so calming. Sailing ships are so beautiful.
I've been a massive fan of pirates and general 17th/18th century nautical stuff literally for as long as I can remember and it all started back when I was a wee bab who loved "Pirates of the Caribbean" and still does. The "Black Pearl" specifically always takes my breath away whenever I look at her.
Your Honour, she is the love of my life, the most magnificent, most elegant and most fierce ship in the seas!
. . .
Fun fact, which I don't see anybody talking about ever: The "Pearl's" rigging changes in-between "Curse of the Black Pearl" and "Dead Man's Chest". And I don't mean her sails getting patched up, I mean that in CotBP she has two square sails on her mizzen mast, a mizzen sail and mizzen topsail, while in DMC, instead of the mizzen sail, she gains a triangular mizzen course sail!
