[MSG]: When's the wedding? // [MSG]: You've been spending a lot of time with Quinn recently. // [MSG]: Just curious... not like I'm jealous or anything...
[MSG]: When’s the wedding?
[MSG]: Huh?[MSG]: Oh…[MSG]: You found out about the ring I gave Quinn didn’t you?[MSG]: Look I kinda go all in from the get go…[MSG]: It was a little much, but it worked.[MSG]: For a while anyway…[MSG]: Her and me though… it’s over.[MSG]: She never moved on from her ex.
[MSG]: You’ve been spending a lot of time with Quinn lately.
[MSG]: We’re duet partners this week, remember?[MSG]: Sometimes Mr. Schue’s picking from the hat doesn’t work in our favor :([MSG]: But we’re not rehearsing tonight.[MSG]: Come over? You can help me with my homework and I’ll school you at Mario Kart again.
[MSG]: Just curious… not like I’m jealous or anything…
[MSG]: You’re totally jealous that I won the Breadstix gift card.[MSG]: It’s okay, I can make you feel better about it.[MSG]: Whatcha doin’ Friday night?[MSG]: Lemme take you to dinner.
[text]: Stop leaving me voicemails, I'm not going to forgive you. // [text]: Breaking up over a text? You've stooped that low? // [text]: Sometimes I worry that you won't know how much I love you.
[text from Gabriella to Sam]: Stop leaving my voicemails, I’m not going to forgive you.
[text]: Have you even listened to them?[text]: I don’t think you saw what you think you saw.[text]: Talk to me. I can explain it all. I promise.
[text from Charlie to Jaden]: Breaking up over a text? You’ve stooped that low?
[text]: I tried to do it last night, at dinner.[text]: But then there you were… [text]: I *want* to be with you, Charlie.[text]: But you need someone better.
[text from Charlie to Jaden]: Sometimes I worry that you won’t know how much I love you.
[text]: Tell me again so I don’t forget?[text]: Not that I could, but…[text]: I just like to hear it… er, read it ;)
“Look, we don’t have to put a label on it. That’s fine. I get it.”
“Gabi, please don’t be like that,” Sam pleaded. He understood her frustration, he did, but he’d not been at this school a year and had been in two terrible relationships. One he was cheated on, one used to make someone else jealous. And maybe third time was the charm? “Can’t we just see where things go? I really like you. That counts for something, right?”
"Whatever, if you have to then you have to."
“Gabi, don’t be like this,” Sam pleaded. She missed a day of glee club, and instead of thinking to volunteer to partner with Gabriella in her absence, he’d allowed himself to get partnered with Quinn for the week’s assignment. He had a strong feeling that the problem wasn’t that they weren’t working together, but that he was working with his ex. Gabi may never admit to being jealous, but he could see it. "It’s one number, then we’ll have a new assignment and we can duet together again.“
"I am not always on time, please don't expect that from me. I will be late, but if you can just wait, I will make it eventually."
“Don’t even sweat it,” Sam said, brushing off the notion. “My family’s car is totally unreliable, so I almost always ask people to meet me at least fifteen minutes earlier than we need to, so I have time to be late? Also, I’m really easily distracted and am kind of terrible at reading clocks? I mean, not the digital ones, usually, but the ones with the hands.” He stopped himself and shook his head, realizing how rambly he was getting. “What I mean is, no big deal. I’ll totally wait.”
"Can we go see the dinosaurs?"
Sam had to laugh as Gabi bounded up the stairs of the Museum of Natural History. With their short time in New York City, Mr. Schuester had granted them one day to explore. One day to relax and take their minds off the upcoming competition. Some theory about a relaxed mind performing better. Most of the group had headed to Times Square, wanting to see the lights and signs of favorite Broadway shows, but not Gabi. Gabi wanted to go to the museum, and with her enthusiasm, Sam could only comply and tag along. “I’m pretty sure the one big dinosaur is, like, right at the entrance, but I’ll make sure you see it, definitely.”
"I don't know how anybody survives in this life without someone like you."
Sam looked at Gabriella quizzically. Not only was he unsure what she meant, he didn’t really know what prompted it either. They hadn’t known each other long. He’d helped her unpack when he saw the moving truck down the street, and volunteered to show her around their little town. He let her come over for movie night in a fort with his little brother and sister. And now they were just studying together after school, enjoying the nice weather outside. None of that was particularly special, he didn’t think. Well-mannered - which was sometimes rare - but not special. “Oh trust me, Gabi, I’m sure you’d be just fine without me.”
