Winter is coming
Because of the issues with leaking boat, i had decide to lift up boat earlier than usually. S/y west wind at winter storage stand Boat was transported nice and safely to winter place. Here she had to be prepared for cold season. First i took all unnecessary bed clothes and other sailing stuff out and place them to storage. Then i had to drive engine with sweet water and glycol. The SHIPLIFT SYSTEM is the best option for lifting or lowering any kind of vessels, of any dimensions and weight, safely and quickly out or into the water. Our modern shiplift consists of a horizontal rigid and/or articulated platform positioned parallel to the quay, lifted and lowered by an even number of electro-hydraulic winches that are positioned symmetrically at both longitudinal sides of the platform. The winches can be hydraulically or electrically driven and are connected to the platform by wire ropes. The SHIPLIFT SYSTEM is made to work seamlessly with our transfer system to optimize their combined performance. #shiplift #shiplifting #Koreashiplifting (at South Korea) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpfXOUwBhak/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=13ns65y6ued1y
Photographed 2018 by Slade Powell And here's the Draken getting hauled out of the water, and then peeking around the main shop like "heyy guys whatcha doooin" (or alternately "hi you kids wanna buy some weed it's healthy for youuu") The Mystic Seaport shipyard has a shiplift, which is basically a boat elevator with only two stops: the water and the lobby. It's pretty badass really, and I was impressed by how smoothly our staff handled it. It goes kinda like this: 1. Drop the shiplift to below the boat's draft 2. Drive the boat over the lift and secure docklines to the dock on either side of the lift 3. Center her by adjusting docklines on either side of the lift 4. Bring up the lift a bit 5. Send in divers to check the boat's placement and start putting in blocks against the jackstands to support her 6. Repeat 4 & 5 a bunch 7. Bring the shiplift all the way up, till its at ground level 8. Realize that no really, Boats Are Big
