Boaty McBoatface is a shining example of the indomitable goofyness and Bullheaded stupidity of the human spirit and i love it.

While technically the Autonomous research submarine that eventually got given that name is not technically either a boat or a ship, It still makes me eternally happy that a peice of million dollar technology is named after an internet meme.

Related: That time they wanted to name part of the ISS after Steven Colbert and it didn’t go through, so they named a treadmill in space after him instead. I love humans.
