Chapter one:  I don't know where we got lost

It was refreshing, she told herself for a while, to finally have someone see her side of things. What a wonderful thing it was when Roy agreed wholeheartedly that life should be just as romantic as any poetry book, she remembered. Or when they both used big and complicated words in a sentence and smiled at each other knowingly. Anne could even say if there was a male version of her, Roy would be the closest to it.

But, sometimes, she missed the challenge. She missed talking to someone with very different opinions than hers, who got her riled up trying to prove her wrong or to make her see something she had missed. And not just someone who would disagree with her, but someone who would believe in what they were saying and present to her a whole new point of view.

Anne knew who that someone was and she tried to shake that thought out of her mind a few times because that wasn’t fair. Gilbert was a family friend and all of that was part of their childhood rivalry and a bit of their young adult life friendship now. Diana had pointed out that it wasn’t like she was missing it with Roy, since she had that with Gilbert, but wasn’t your companion supposed to have a full relationship with you?

She knows exactly who it’s from as she opens up the letter in her lap.

Anne stumbled into her apartment, carrying a precarious tower of personal items. Between the mail, her purse and a cup of pumpkin spice flavoured coffee, her hands were full. Huffing she set down her burden, glaring at the large package that had caused all her annoyance of the past few minutes. She’d expected a few pieces of mail, not a fairly good sized package. 

As far as Anne knew, she hadn't ordered anything. No online purchases, no midnight impulse shopping, no birthdays or holidays that warranted a package. Just a normal, boring week in October. But written on the box was her name Miss Anne Shirley-Cuthbert in nice calligraphy. Handwriting that was vaguely familiar, a ghost of remembrance hovering in the background. She knew that handwriting. 

Carefully she cut open the box, hoping it wasn’t a bomb or a nasty surprise waiting to scare her. Anne lifted the tabs, moved the bubble wrap, set aside an envelope with her name written on it in that same familiar cursive, and removed the tissue paper wrapped around its precious cargo. As the paper fell away, it revealed a blue and red and white knitted scarf. 

Her scarf.

Marilla had made it for her the last year of high school and she’d taken it with her to college. Wearing it around Queen’s campus during the brisk autumn wind, bundling it around her neck to wade off the winter’s chill, the feeling of home and belonging and friendship weaved between its threads. The bittersweet tang of regret. 

The last time she had her scarf was when she was with him. 

Gilbert Blythe. 

Anne inhaled the sweet musk of her scarf one last time before turning to the envelope. The reason it was vaguely familiar was because old-fashioned letters were their thing. Or it had been. Before it had all fallen apart.

'There is an Indentation (In the Shape of You)' - Chapter 1

Some of you might remember that I posted a sneak peak of what I've affectionately been referring to as The "Dress" Fic while I've been writing it. It's been a long time coming, but I'm so thirlled I can finally share the first chapter of that story with y'all. Hope you'll come along for the ride!

SUMMARY: "All of this silence and patience, pining in anticipation— my hands are shaking from holding back from you…”

Anne’s an entertainment journalist who gets roped into covering the press junket for the new ‘Pride & Prejudice’ adaptation after her editors find out that she grew up with the film’s hot young star, Gilbert Blythe— the same Gilbert Blythe she harbored unrequited feelings for back in high school, which is probably why going through with this assignment is an absolutely terrible idea.

EXCERPT: “There’s also the matter of the upcoming press tour for the new Pride and Prejudice remake— that Blythe boy’s going to have one hell of an award show season if the buzz in Hollywood is anything to go by,” her West Coast editor adds in. “It’d be great if we could get him on the cover.”

Anne bites her lip, suddenly incredibly interested in the abstract lines she’s drawing on the note pad in front of her at the mention of Gilbert Blythe— Hollywood’s resident It Guy, and arguably the most in-demand young actor on the market. It's her default reaction to lay low whenever Gilbert’s name gets brought up in conversation in the newsroom, which, unfortunately for Anne, has been happening more and more frequently over the course of the past few years...

This fanfiction is for Anne and Gilbert based and inspired by Our Song by Taylor Swift. This is a small short fanfic. This fanfic is also accompanied with new version of our song. The fanfic also includes a music video for Anne and Gilbert.

The summary of fanifc is that Anne Is trying to write a letter to Gilbert, but she is distracted by the last time she and kissed Gilbert. But during here distraction Gilbert comes from behind her for a surprise visit. Gilbert takes Anne on an automobile ride. During the trip, Anne think about what their song is; Gilbert comes up with the perfect answer,
