Shiro & The Black Lion

Before Shiro's birthday is over I wanted to post this edit I did for my bio in amino a few months ago.

One of my favorite things in the show since the very beginning is the relationship between Shiro and the Black Lion.

The look of awe Shiro had when he first saw Black for the first time.

How they became one so Shiro could see through Black's eyes.

Black coming to his rescue when Shiro and Pidge were in trouble.

Unlocking the jaw blade which helped to end with huge amount of Galra cruisers inmediately.

The pain Shiro felt when Zarkon made Black throw him into space and even still, Shiro didn't gave on Black and do his best to get her back.

When he was on verge of death and the only thing he could think of was how he had failed. Keith could connect with Black thanks to their equal desire to help Shiro.

Then he asked Black how they could strengthen their bond. Black opened to Shiro and showed him her past.

Shiro fighting against Zarkon for Black and winning, not with his fists but with his trust in Black.

Shiro using his bond, now way stronger than Zarkon's to fool the emperor into a trap. And then fighting the galra all by themselves in order to gain time for the others.

When the team was in danger, Shiro and Black risen again to protect them, to fight for what they both have been through and thanks to their trust in each other they were able unlock Black's wings and reclaim what was rightfully theirs.

And when Zarkon tried to stole Black again, Black told Shiro to give the last blow.

The story between Shiro and Black is so beautifully written that everytime I rewatch the 2 first seasons of the show it gets my heart racing with excitement and joy.

After all the ups and downs Shiro and Black stand up to the people who hurt them, together.
