Hunchback of Notre Dame musical hits so much harder than I expected it to???

Should have known in retrospect, but the play about a disabled and disfigured man brought up to believe he’s a freak and a monster by the Catholic Church who finds love and kindness only from another outcast, only for it to result in both of their deaths kinda hit me, a queer disabled plural trans person, right in the fucking nog.

Also the pained hope for a better future that they’ll never see expressed by Esmerelda, her prayer for outcasts, and her sexual trauma from the church.

Also also, the demonization and violence toward the Romani people.

This show is excellent. It made me cry six different times. No hyperbole. 9/10.
