I was once employed by a man who:
Had immigrated to America from India
Was of one of the faiths that maintains that Reincarnation is a fact
Had come to the conclusion that if he committed Good Deeds and thought Good Thoughts in this life he would be reincarnated as a wealthy American’s pet dog.
I don’t know to what extent he really believed that, but he mentioned it often enough that it became a sort of running joke.
“Ah, but what if you get stuck as a purse chihuahua?”
“I am held by a beautiful woman at all times. I see no downside.”
“You’d be ok with a leash and collar? Being fenced in and contained?”
“7 days a week I am running this store! Explain to me the difference! That last woman said that she took her dog to a spa. A spa for dogs! I do not have anyone taking me to a spa.”
I am baffled by the theological implications. (Mostly because I’m ignorant, but… I can work on that). It’s certainly an entertaining thought.
