The Broken American School System:

Honestly, yeah, I completely agree with this video. School should have lots of other classes, like these: politics, cooking and cleaning, sewing, taxes, and everything else an adult needs to know. And if the students show that they know how to do these things for adult life, they can opt-out and choose new classes. I know I certainly know how to cook and clean, but I don't know how to sew or how to do taxes or even the first thing about politics! Schools should have more clubs, too! Like more writing and drama and news and so many other things! Those clubs could even give students "degrees", so to speak. I already know that I want to be a writer and activist, but I only ever had one creative writing class in 6th grade, and that was an extracurricular, more or less. And I was a lucky one, as also seen by the fact that my grade's writing class coincided with my gym time. I even have a good plan for my future job, too, actually. And I'm only 13. And tests shouldn't be that horrible anyway. We should have less standardized tests and more opportunities to do the tests again to get a better grade. Extra credit is very important. And kids should have less homework and more extra credit. If kids already know the work, why give them homework? We already struggle with having a personal life, family life, social life, and not to mention school life. It's hard, let us be kids. Many of us are already too stressed out. There's a reason that high school kids in 2012 had the same amount of mental issues as 1900's insane asylum patients, at least from what I heard a few times.

SAFEGUARDING? 'TENACIOUS' SAFEGUARDING?
FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU.FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU.
But wait there's more
In our 3rd grade religion class (I've said this before but schools should have no business in the religious indoctrination of kids but whatever) we had to do assignments in class and submit our workbooks to our teacher so she can correct them. I gave mine to her to be corrected, only for her to completely lose it with a student and have a raging bitch fit right in the middle of class which resulted in her slamming my workbook onto the desk and having the pages rip out. Rip notebook and emotional sanity.
I had a science exam and tbh I didn't study very well for it. But I ended up asking my teacher several questions because I didn't study enough. Also the entire exam was in Arabic which is my second language, so of course I'm going to ask for help. She screamed at me in front of everyone in the class. I went home crying and told my mom. My mom got involved and confronted my teacher, who then came to my class the next day to pull me out and she apologized and gave me candy. Too little too late.
I also had a teacher scream at me in class for forgetting to bring one of my notebooks to school.
I went back to visit my family in 2021, seeing my little cousin wearing her school uniform and seeing her get on and off the bus - Vietnam flashbacks everywhere.
I wonder why teachers tell us the internet is dangerous when it is literally the internet that gives us validation and educates us properly...
And the teachers and school makes us feel like shit...
To Whom It May Concern - American Public Schools
For anyone curious, or possibly about to be in one of these schools, I made this list. This pertains to my school and the schools I’ve heard about from many people who have moved around. Even so, my knowledge is limited by my experience, obviously.
Most of the rumors about American public schools are probably true, however I haven’t seen anyone
•Fuck in a janitor’s closet (but yes, they do in the bathrooms - usually the guys’ bathroom) •Get shoved in a locker (or against them) and at 5'¾" and 116 lbs, I am the only one who I’ve ever seen fit in one •Start a food fight. I have never seen one, ever. I’ve never heard of it. Also never seen anyone pretend to spill they’re food on someone like a dick. It has happened on real accident, but was thoroughly apologized for and forgiven. (My parents do claim to have been a part of at least one when they went to my same school mind you, but that was a good 30+ years ago) •Seniors really don’t beat up the underclassmen any more often then they beat up each other - that actually happens more •Random people do not try and pressure straight edges to smoke/drink/do drugs. As a straight edge, I can tell you they always either ask why, then appreciate the reason and/or say “trust me, keep it that way”. •In. High. School. There. Is. No. One. Student. Or. Group. That. Rules. The. School. Or. Is. Always. Picked. On. Popularity barely exists in a moderate to large school because there’s too damn many people, and there are kids no one likes, but that’s almost always with good reason.
What definitely is true -
•There is no available mirror space in a womens’ ’ bathroom - and they’re all putting on makeup (and they already have on makeup too) •"The bell doesn’t dismiss you, I dismiss you.“ •The science teachers are amazing, and I have heard two of them say "If you’re gonna be a science teacher, you have to at least be a little crazy.” •Yes, some teachers really DO hate some students. And you bet some play favorites. •Dodgeball depends. I’ve never I’m two years (10th & 11th grade) played it in gym, but it sometimes maybe 2-3 times a year does happen with specific coaches. In middle school and in 9th grade (which is a different building so 14 year olds and 10 year olds aren’t in the same building and so 12th graders don’t beat up 9th graders - see above) though, it is a constant thing. Mostly the high school does basketball as the “we’re stuck inside” thing. •Drug deals happen in the bathrooms (and the hallways tend to smell like cigarettes or worse in certain areas - very public areas I might add), but it’s unlikely that you’d find out on accident because no one really pays too much attention, and if they do, it’s around the whole school within ten minutes (5 if it’s between classes) •Health class is taught by the abstinence system, unless you had a good health teacher (I did) which is a 50/50 shot in many schools, but in mine, is guaranteed. These teachers are sharing life advice that actually helps, if you can believe if. •Expect about 6 fights a year (about 2 that you know about, and maybe there are more you’ve never even heard about) in a fairly sized to large public high school IF it’s in a good area. Those two you know about, you will hear about for a good two weeks, but the other four probably don’t run in your circles. It’s common to hear “did you hear? There were two fights today” “Really? Damn” -Yes, there has been hair in a clump on the ground after homeroom. Yes, teachers intervene about 6 at a time. Yes, they pin girls to the ground. Yes, they are taught the “get the guys to break eye contact” if it’s men, and yes, this works. However, it’s mostly girls in a full-on fight. These students often get suspended, usually only the one that started it though. They both generally get sent home for the rest of the day. •There are some amazing teachers and some really mean teachers. Mostly, they’re in between. You’ll likely find one you really connect with once a year (though I’ve certainly found more), and it’s common for students to visit that teacher after they’re not in their class (whilst they are still in that same high school) and, so long as they aren’t busy, many encourage it. •I have never heard of a teacher fucking a student or two teachers fucking ever in my time in school thus far, including married teachers in the same school. •I have heard of kids being “sent to the office” but it’s counseling, attendance, or main. I have never heard of a kid being “sent to the principal’s office) since it was the only office in the school. There is no "the office”. If you say “the office” everyone gives you a look like which fucking one dammit and the teachers never just say “the office” to the student it pertains to. •You cannot take medication in school without a doctors note and the okay from the nurse from a sheet. Even then, you mostly have to do it in the nurse. Asthma is an exception, Epi-pens are not (but really, who’s gonna say something about that?). •Teachers teach for the test mostly, except about 1/3 who really truly care about your future. •Yes, there are some teachers, usually tech or coaches though, who have sexually harassed or sexually assaulted students and still have a job. The smaller your school, the less likely that is though. They, in these cases, either blame the student somehow, just move the student or teacher, or say “not enough evidence”
There’s probably more though. If you’re curious, let me know.
Why?
That blonde haired kid with glasses that no one cares about needs to go back to elementary school. He is nowhere near mature enough to be a high schooler. He needs to stop bothering everyone
Johnson high school boring asf
Whoever did the paint job needs to be executed, it's so fucking bland it kills half its student body each year.
