okay so i know im going to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but genuinely the propaganda in the tiktok pop-ups is baffling and the amount of people who don't see it is terrifying. this man wanted the app banned and now suddenly he is its savior? and the app is calling him "president trump" before he's even been sworn in? and theres commercials about it being back up? (commercial ads take more than a day to create and set up to run). along with this, there's the fact it's "back up" but you can't find it on the app store. at least when I searched it up, the first thing to come up was an ad for trump's cryptocurrency.

trump also admitted to cheating the election (or more so having musk do it).

I'm fully convinced they're gonna buy the app and slip in more propaganda disguised as TikTok videos. while I dislike him with a burning passion, musk is not a dumb man, and trump is very good at manipulation.

Everyone’s reminder that the American school system is intersexist as fuck.

They try to be inclusive to trans people by saying ‘only sex is binary, gender isn’t!!’ Which simply isn’t true. Neither are binary.

I’m so disappointed in how intersex people are completely erased from conversations about sex.

In my sex ed unit last year, intersex people were completely left out of the conversation. Intersex people deserve to be able to be safe with their bodies just as much as anybody else does. Same thing when learning about sex characteristics in 8th grade science. The teacher said “there is only two sexes, male and female, XY and XX” which literally isn’t true??? Someone asked her if different chromosome types were possible and she said no. Genuinely how are you a science teacher.

Stop excluding intersex people from conversations about sexual health.

There’s a “no politics” rule in her school, where no classroom is supposed to talk explicitly about their political leanings or political opinions.

she just told me that the day after Charlie Kirk died, her science teacher gave a five minute talk on how an “influential man” who has “done mutant important thinfs for the world” died, “tragically leaving behind his wife and kids.”

This woman doesn’t even teach history or government or anything like that. There’s a sign in every classroom that says no politics. And my sister had to sit through her giving a fucking reverent obituary for a man who would’ve have seen my sister (a lesbian) hated for her sexual orientation

as a homeschooler it always confused me when other kids said their favorite subject was math. I HATED math. Then I took a public school test, and I realized: thr American education system has managed to butcher all other subjects, book them down to nothing more interesting or creative than simple memorization, and so all that is left is math. Math, which, while hard, has a series of steps, an actual PROBLEM TO SOLVE, rather than a date to be memorized

it's not that i hate the school system; its just that they took away gender neutral bathrooms. it's just that when i needed help the most, they ignored me. its just that when i was bullied so bad that i attempted, they made me apoligize to the bully. it's just that the teachers dont care. it's just that they pressure you to get good grades for college starting in elementary school. its just that if you're slightly different, you won't fit in. it's just that if you aren't an athlete, you dont matter. it's just that they don't help you if you don't understand material. it's just that if you don't have all As, they don't help you.

Okay I need somebody who is American and who wants to help me with my fanfiction to tell me how exactly prom and graduation in the US works. Cause I have a bunch of questions:

First of all when are final exams written? Like what month and is it always the same month and how many weeks does it take? Do you have school in between exam days or are those free for graduating students to study, like how they are in Germany? Or do final exams happen when the other students already have summer vacation? Just in general, what is the timeline of final exams? And so you write your final exams and then what happens? Is that when prom happens? Or is prom not actually for graduating students? Like what exactly is prom and is there a graduating class specific prom? Also how much time is there between the last final exam and graduation? Like the ceremony with the caps and the gowns. When does graduation usually happen? Is there free time before it, where the graduating students are basically already done with school and so they can just enjoy their free time until their graduation day? Or is that only a very short few days? Also is there another more party-like celebration after the graduation ceremony or is it just the ceremony and then everyone goes home to celebrate with family and friends?

Just basically. explain to me how final exams and prom and graduation works and the timeline of it all and assume that I know Nothing. Also I'd love to know how it was in the 80s but for my own sake I'm just gonna assume that it's pretty similar to how it is today.

I'd love it if somebody could give me an answer to all of these questions or also just some of them, if all of them is too much.
