A post about the importance of girl characters having girl friends/girl talk got me thinking. Took till s3 for Nya to have more than maybe girl acquaintances (like at the amusement park) and then Zane jammed Pixal into his head.

So imagine that doesn’t deter them, and Pixal is able to share the body instead of always being the in the head voice. Zane’s trapped in the middle of girl talk, randomly discovers his nails have been painted a lovely shade of purple (but is disappointed it’s not apron-pink), gets trapped into going out for random cups of coffee, shopping trips, spending hours at Chen’s while Nya and Pix bond with Skylor. He knows more than he ever wanted to know about the whole Jay-Cole thing, and really tried to shut down his processor during any conversation about the physical side of Nya’s previous relationship. (He can’t look Jay in the eye for at least a week.)

Then s5 passes, and now he’s Jay’s confidante about the whole ice reflection thing, and also privy to Nya’s rants about men in general and Jay specifically, who she has crazy mixed feelings about. He’s stuck in the middle but also isn’t supposed to know Nya’s side; those were private conversations with Pixal.

He’s almost happy to be trapped in Nadakhan’s sword by the time it happens. And then s7 comes. And Pixal is gone. And Zane misses being in the middle of girl talk as much as he misses having Pixal around.

mask along with her own, helping to clear his airway…and to let her see his face. She brushes a hand against his cheek, admiring his spattering of freckles.

“I…is there anything I can do to help?”

"…do you really wanna know?" Jay’s head lolls uselessly to the side, leaning into Nya’s touch. Nya, of course, nods. “…you could kiss me.”

Nya, while not opposed to the idea, still gives Jay a weary look. “And how is that going to help right now?!”

Jay hums coyly. “It’ll prove that you trust me on this, if nothing else.”

Skeptical, Nya debates with herself before deciding to go for it—what does she have to lose? She slides her fingers into his hair to keep him supported, then leans forward, presses her lips to his, and her eyes flutter shut…but Jay’s eyes shoot wide open, blazing with cobalt.

The kiss turns electrical—Nya gasps as sparks literally fly, but Jay instantly sits back up, wrapping his arms around her torso to deepen the embrace. Jay comes back to life bit by bit, and it's then that Nya realizes he's slipping—no, floating —out of her grasp.

Are Nya and Jay going to get actually married after the whole ‘yin and yang’ proposal or are they eternal fiancés like in canon sksjskjsksks

Eventually they have a ceremony of some sort (as I dunno if I'd want them to get """traditionally""" married as a: the yin-yang thing seems to denote different significance than the act of marriage; b: the show doesn't really 'treat' them as married and/or engaged, and maybe that could be explained by the fact that they're not supposed to be; and c: Nya's probably gonna have a qualm or two about marriage in general after what went down in Skybound), but for my purposes it would still most likely be after Crystalized and before The Merge if at all

i’ve toyed around with the idea of designing my own ninjago outfits, and whether or not i actually do it, i think jay and nya should have matching yin/yang patches sewn onto their suits
