I do infinitely prefer the direction they took Zane's personality in DRs4 (some personality beats no personality) but it's weird that his growth was all off-screen.

Also I don't like how he comes back as this kind of chill surfer dude and then he's talking like his usual DR self for the rest of the season. The Zane who says "surprise surprise!" and "when my powers got all janky" shouldn't be mentioning his calculations and his scans and all that other boring junk.

Darkthink and Acidrain Headcanons

Shade/Neuro

Neuro and Shade were going to get married, then the Tournament invitation came

Shade is the flirty one, but he cannot take it at all. man turns into a blushing, flustered mess if Neuro flirts back

They're both really smart & aggressive planners, this is how Shade inexplicably got his hands on Neuro's finances, did the maths, and figured out they could take home like an extra 8k/year each if they got a civil union. and that's how they got married at first, and then they wanted to get it done properly like 1.5 years after dating

They complement each other well in combat. Neuro is better off at dealing with lots of people he can influence or confuse, and is best at dealing with ambushes/surprise attacks. Shade mostly uses his clones to distract his opponents, then ambushes them, and doesn't do too well against large crowds. They both fill in each other's short comings.

Specifically for Neuro, he can only do hallucinations if he gets physical contact

Nya/Tox

Love at first sight, except they mutually believe that the other doesn't want them. Nya thinks Tox is too cool, and Tox thinks Nya is too good for her and Nya's out of her league

Tox has a thing about armour, Samurai X has a new fan and Tox has a lady boner

They're both smart in their own ways: Tox with chemicals, she'd be a toxicologist or something. Nya with technology and engineering. Neither really understand what the other does, but will listen to a 50-slide long powerpoint about each other's special interest

Skipping ahead to season 5: When they find out that Nya is the Mistress of Water, Tox would encourage her to remain as Samurai X because up to that point, she had been an object of desire (rescue from skeletons, a love interest for Cole and Jay) until she got her own autonomy through Samurai X, and gained her own personhood until Wu was like "You're the Master of Water, and therefore something the main cast can want/need again" (I'm not going to re-write season 5 because I just don't have a lot to say, but it's still like. Let Nya be her own person plz)

Tox joined the resistance in season 9 because Nya asked her too

Their Elements complement each other like really well. As the ship name suggests, Tox gets insane range with her Power if Nya helps. And Nya's Power gets way more deadly if Tox helps her

Trigger Warning⚠️: Opinion, bad grammar, awful spelling mistakes

I'm sorry ik I'm nitpicking rn but it actually does annoy me that Nya changes her color all the time. Okay not all the time but hear me out🙏

Something that was valued from the very beginning is the color of the clothes. We had this whole Iconic scene in the pilots where each of the Ninja got assigned their very own color. We also had this whole thing with the Legendary Green Ninja like do y'all see how important the colors r? Little boys were able to choose their favs based on colors. When they say they like the Red Ninja everyone knew who they meant. There was even the scene in the pilots where Nya says she likes blue and somehow this means Jay has a chance with her?😭 Their pajamas r in their colors and so are their casual clothes.

Well then Nya joined and her first suit color was red with blue accents. Then she had a Grey suit with blue coloring in it. She also changes to red with blue again?? And finally a blue one which stayed blue for now the entirety of Dragons rising.

From the very beginning jay was known as the blue Ninja so honestly it bothers me a little that she is the blue Ninja as well now because it's a bit late for it tbh in dr we have many colors shared anyway so it doesn't matter as much as it did before. However I have a strong bias for her Grey suit because it's just 😍 and I still get upset rewatching ninjago and seeing her with all those different colors when she should've been the grey Ninja from the moment she became one (or the light blue one ig😒)

Some random Ninjago Headcanons I have:

- In s1 - 3 Zane's lips were made out of rubber

- when jaya started dating nya Immediately told him if he needed dating advice he should never EVER ask kai

- In s1 Kai bribed lloyd with candy so he can go on cafes with him while kai is reading some performative book and acting like the cutest and most caring older brother so he can get some dates with girls😭

- cole zane and jay did the cooking challenge where zane couldn't see, jay couldn't speak and cole couldn't hear

- Nya and Wu go to new cafes together to try them. Wu just gets tea most of the time tho😭

- Pixal loves watching trash tv

- Jay is a huge Miraculous lady bug fan and he fell for those "angel of darkness" ladybug reveal vids

- kai,jay and cole watch love island together but they hide it from the rest of the team

- Lloyd farts when he's nervous😭

- cole can belly dance like a professional

- Misako and Pixal are close. When Misako comes back with new knowledge she learned she and pixal sit down with a cup of tea or smth and then Misako tells her all about it

- Nya and kai always glance at each other when someone said smth weird

- Nya has a day in the week where none of the boys r allowed to talk to her because she wants to relax and do some self care (The girls r allowed to talk to her tho AYE)

- In addition Nya and Pixal go to the spa together (I hc Ninjago to improve in including robots bc the robot population got bigger)

- when someone wants smth from the kitchen or new snacks they always tell lloyd to do it

- Lloyd and Pixal build Sandcastles together when the team is at the beach

- Pixal has a fear of darkness (explanation)

- Jay loves opera and goes there often with zane

- Kai loves 2000s white girl movies

- Lloyd had an anime phase so bad he said stuff like "Baka" "Oi oi oi" unironically😭

- Jay had a gacha phase

- cole has a blog (idk what their socials are) for food where he tries food spots and rates them

- Kai keeps a pic of Nya when she was little in his pocket

- The team has movie nights

- Lloyd secretly buys baby food items cuz they're delicious

- cole was a very chubby child

- Pixal is very intrigued by fashion. Not in the way cleo de nile or stella is but more abt the silhouettes and different Fabrics etc. She finds it very interesting how a piece of clothing can shape a whole figure and so on

- Nya hates compliments from random guys. But when a girl compliments her she screams in her head

- Pixal gets really good at comforting people over time so the Ninja naturally gravitate towards her

- Cole loves the school subject geography

- they sometimes act like they're in "the voice" or talent shows. They choose the judges and the rest get an assigned role that they have to present with😭

- Nya can sing really well

- Pixals voice is actually very soothing

- Lloyd nd Nya r the most acrobatic

- Kai can play multiple instruments especially the "cool" ones💔

- Sensei Garmadon and wu still like to go fishing together no matter the age

- wu nd sensei garmadon still fight like children and they often ask misako to say who's right. She does nawt want to be part of this💔 if she does choose and it's not Garmadon he sulks

- Nya gives Jay the silent treatment when she's mad

- Jay tries to invite couples from the Monestary to double dates💔 (with couples from the Monestary I mean for example oppo,hotwire, lava, glacier,pixane and what else there is)

Do you have an hc for the age and height of the og ninjas + new ninjas post merge ? Can you draw or write it ? 😱

This took a lot of scribbling and counting and researching, but I think I kinda established my ages and heights finally!

FIRST OF ALL, the ages. I made a chart with it and then explain some stuff then!

Kai will start from 14 and that was the first final decision I made. Making him older or even younger just wouldn't work out. The others are just a few years older, with Zane in his 40s due to being a nindroid while being about 18 physically.

THEN, from S2 to S3 there has to be ATLEAST one year age gap due to the technological advances that were made in ninjago.

Afterwards a one year timeskip again from S3 to S4 after Zane's sacrifice, as the ninja needed time to grieve and with their whole new jobs and such.

Then the ages stay the same until we get to S8 with the redesigns, so atleast one year again. It's in this oni trilogy period that Jay mentions being "older teens/young adults", so they can't be much older than 21 maximum.

Then let's say one year again after the trilogy and on to S11, where Zane later on spends about 60 years as the ice emperor, jumping him from 43 years old to 103 years old.

Then we have a 6months/ one year gap again from S13 to S14/Seabound, where Kai makes the merging with the Sea sacrifice. Because of THAT, it's Canon that they spent one year until crystallized mourning the loss, so we add another year.

They age up one year again after the events of crystallized till the merge, and then 5 years pass again when they all disappear in the realms. So in the end, they're in their middle 20's to early 30's in Dragons rising!

Heights

Now this one is more simple i think. Let's start from the pilots again!

I basically added some of my own thoughts on their heights, and some of the average heights for their ages. Lloyd is little asf being the 10 year old he is lmao

Then let's look before the merge!

I said it before, but Kai is a late bloomer in terms of height. For Lloyd, I like to think that the sudden growth because of tomorrow's tea disturbed some of his growth systems, so he's shorter than what an average person his age would be!

As for Zane, he could have been remodeled at some point, maybe when he was given to Chen? I'm not sure, but at some point regardless.

And then ofcourse, dragon rising.

Kai finally grew taller, a few changes with others too but basically the same!

Now looking at the new ninja. Ages are simple, as most of them were kind of hinted in the show. Not sure about Wyldfyre tho, but she really gives me 14 year old vibes

As for heights, yeah I basically just made the most realistic ones up.

I think that's all! Not sure if I forgot something, but even if I'd just add later! SEE YA!
