Chapter 118: The Irishima Talks, Part 2
I had to read this chapter a couple of times. So much happened all at once. On one hand, it was cool that we saw Shuuji's sorcery, but I also feel like it's a death flag 😭 I looked up the kanji for Shuuji's "akuu" which is 空空, it's the same kanji twice, and usually it means "sky", but in this case the meaning of "empty" or "space" would be more appropriate. His ability is pretty cool, and he uses it well. I'm just glad he's ok for now.
The Shokoku warrior's spell "kera" also had interesting kanji, 咼楽. I've never seen the first kanji before, and I couldn't find a straightforward meaning for it, but it seems to mean something like "crooked"??? The second kanji is a common one and it's the same "ra" as in "kagu-ra-bachi" so that's interesting. It can mean music/song or happiness, depending on context.
The Shokoku leader man seems to have some incredible healing abilities. I wonder how the datenseki pendants they wear incorporate into their sorcery. Did he heal because it's part of his own sorcery? Is the healing from the datenseki? It's probably a bit of both, but how much does each aspect affect the other? If the datenseki can heal, maybe the 4 warriors were too weak to utilize it?
Also, the end of the chapter was ominous, what exactly is happening to the leader man??? Is he on a suicide mission coming to negotiate with the Japanese government?
