You're lucky the cut wasn't deeper.
BLOOD ON YOUR SLEEVE, accepting; @shokwav.
❝ oh hush! ❞ like you can talk, is what she wants to say. her mother had ever impressed upon her the use of stilling your tongue, her indignance had no place here. besides, in a weird, salt in your wound, jagged and spiteful, way it almost seemed like he... was concerned? or, no, she couldn't put her finger on it. something not too far off, like the dawn of a horizon she couldn't quite capture, clouds slipping just out of reach of outstretched fingertips; was he scolding her or rubbing it in? you're lucky... she supposed she was.
she tuts, yet another habit stolen from her mother, an errant lock of her fringe pushed up and brushed to the side. times like this was when she wished her ears were more visibly present, almost tempting to bring them out just for the sake of having somewhere to tuck looser strands of hair but... no, she'd do fine without it. any loud noises would surely dysregulate her, and she really couldn't deal with another weird display in front of him! he already has pictures of her poor display on live tv, don't think she's forgotten! her weird ears would only add to that, she's sure.
still, she creeps closer with slow roving eyes and fussy hands wringing themselves around her wrists. there was something far more pressing on her mind. something that wasn't her own disregard for her safety, she could worry about that on her own time and her own terms. she didn't want anyone doing the worrying for her. that was a privilege granted to her, and her alone.
❝ your neck... ❞
she starts nervous, fluttery. as though the reminder might pull a nerve. she was already trying so hard to tread on careful ground, she didn't want to rock the boat even more. contrary to popular, well, no, HIS belief... and the belief of a few others' who had ... opinions on her decisions, she did actually want to build a good rapport with him. had she forgiven him? no. the ordeal was so fresh in her mind still, she doubted she would ever. a truth tucked close and rotten in the festering wound of her sacred and private, but... she could try. they could work on it, and didn't he deserve that much? the chance to try again. a fresh start. what would it be like to get to know him underneath all that vitriol? he seemed so... lonely. she was too, once. it nearly broke her.
❝ it's been a while, can i... ? ❞ she's reaching out with hands halfway out, curled into little claws. she had a first aid kit nearby, knew a thing or two about mending errant injuries.
❝ i'm not going to hurt you, i just want to see. ❞
