I liked incorporating a rough edge to the dark purple backdrop- the cosmic swirls and spatter of stars sing true to the nocturnal soul of the barn owl and his eternal marriage to the sky and stars.

"Waiting for Rain" was inspired by watching the Grey Heron by the Ceres burn where I grew up. Like a lonely sentinel,hunched and stark he stands for hours in the cold water-hoping for a glimmer of fish scales.. This piece was a commission/gift for my dad..
